    So I've read some comments here already and my opinion on it is that the stratagem could see some changes. This is not the final version as mentioned. I think it would be nice if they could add some sort of "incendiary rain" to the flare. Wherever you shoot it, it would light up the area while also raining down fire within a certain radius.

    @@GlitchUnlimited I feel like that would defeat the purpose of the flare. They could add to it without making it do too much, and I think it’d be enough as long as it remains passive

    Quick note for the Orbital flare boys you shouldn't forget that in the first game there where planets that had the natural even "Solar eclipse" which made plunged the map in complete darkness, the only light source are your flashlights so the flare being in the works suggests this planetary event is possibly coming

    On certain planets there are solar eclipses. They do indeed make the map dark but not pitch black

    There are solar eclipses in H2 aswell. Thought it was a bug at first because of how everything got dark all of the sudden. But it's a really cool feature!

    If the flare can attract the attention of enemies, it might be very viable for stealth builds, especially with Automatons

    The flare is automatically granted to you on a nighttime mission, or on planets with bad visibility. And it attracts enemies. Depending on the range of said attraction, this might revolutionize stealth. And I’m all for it

    Before they add any new ship mods I wanna see a "training" option that acts as a shooting range where you can basically drop into the intro part and can test out all the weapons/strats...it'd be an easier build since they already have that built out from the beginning...just gotta tweak the functionality

    @@GlitchUnlimited Alexus is a cause, not a person. the "standardisation-team" even to now have only cut away interesting features and never added one in or back. The closest we have had is the xbow getting a bug/factory-hole closer or the railgun nerfs being slowly and steadily rolled back because the initial nerf was UTTERLY POINTLESS (but the gunships and ATAT stats were insanely over-buffed specifically against the railgun andn n0o other weapon). but the slugger remains a worthless downgrade of the JAR the railgun was MASSIVELY under-tuned with the introduction of the gunships and ATAT-weapons (not even the main body it takes 45+ seconds 9+-shots to take out a SINGLE sub-gun/gunship using an OVERCHARGED heavy-pen railgun while med-2 support weapons can take them out in 1-3 seconds and 2-5 shots) and remains worthless versus "radiator" weakpoints. the eruptor because of the ammo & AoE nerfs is less-useful than even the liberator-lineup of shelf-fillers. 1 shot per 2 seconds, terrible handling and 65 shots in total any one of which can delete your own HPO but struggle to AoE down more than 1-2 baby-bugs due to the AoE-propagation nerfs. the heavy-support weapons are in a constant state of 1-2 of them being broken/useless (now it's the quaso's turn as it's 18-21 seconds PER SHOT unless in a cold-environment, then it's "only" 15. Tbh the battery powered weapons in general are in a weird state, blitzer loves to target corpses, arcgun likewise and still has thge nerfed range from when it got butchered "for slapping bile titans across the map"... quaso is a REALLY slow-to-fire weapon despite every enemy that it's supposed to go up against needing 2-3 shots to kill and having insta/combo/ragdoll/AoE-kill weapons that can cross-map most helldivers. IMO give them an overheat/unsafe mechanic like the railgun and let them burst-fire 2-4 rounds but too many in too short a time and you go boom (preferably with the option to drop the damned things and GTFO before it "booms" as i don't like instakill mechanics from player-gear but the weapon exploding due to an unstoppable overheat/chain-reaction is a neat idea). Hell at this point the HMG has been out 2-3 months now? and it's red-dot sight is STULL UPSIDE-DOWN. It's not "bore axis" if ti was then the bullet would align to the signt at a specific fiixed/pre-determined range the devs simply put the red-dot decal on the weapon upside-down and NEVER fixed it (made all the worse in that the HMG red-dot isn't centered in the scope it's off-set by 10-15% making it 30% off-setto he bullet's initial "point blank"/flat trajectory ballistic path.

    Yeah, it would make more sense if the acclamator class replaced the helldivers ship rather than the venator class, the acclamator is a ground Invasion ship, the venator is more of a aircraft carrying battleship.

    I'd love to see a Laser Shotgun or Plasma SMG for the next primaries in a future warbond. Even an Incendiary Pistol would be interesting to try and dethrone Incendiary Breaker as the King Bug primary but opening up new load outs. Custom Loadouts as a UI feature would be cool, but you'd need quite a few (Probably 8-10). Bugs, bots, planet modifiers, missions types, and ally loadouts all play a big factor. In the theme of the distraction flare, a Jamming Stratagem would be kind of cool. In an AoE it would prevent reinforcements and bug breaches, enemy spawns from holes and fabricators, as well is disorienting local enemies. One thing that really needs to be addressed with the possibility of the Illuminate return, is how effectively the reduced player base will be able to achieve objectives now. The formula that determines holds, defenses, liberatons, etc, will need to be made a little more forgiving, and not so skewed that a few thousand Divers have no shot of Liberating a world in a day or two.

    @@GlitchUnlimited That whole weapon category needs some love. The nerf to the Pummeler was absolutely unwarranted. Fix the Ballistic Shield and buff SMGs.

    I was just talking about this. In the military the flare was used to see the enemy at night and for distraction and a signal for others to your location that the enemy is at that site. So cool.

    Don't really care about having loadouts, but what I wish we could do is organize the stratadms in a particular order when selected them. Like I want all the sentries together all the machine guns together all the airstrikes together like just a little more organization

    I think a loud out system would decrease the use of less used stratagems even further. So I personally hope we never get that. People would unerringly press the “meta loaudout button” and ready up instantly with no time to talk stats.

    no, then we'll have a bunch of ""meta" builds of mismatched armor combos that look ugly together. the way it currently is you get the one passive perk, then you pick what looks good with it

    There was a bug last week during a mission when I played with another 3 people where the Encrypted SSSD that was being carried any one of the squad mate got thrown on the ground due to to an explosion that killed the squad member however after respawning and coming the location to pickup the SSSD package, it seemed like the package was stuck in the ground geometry and could not be retrieved. We even tried using strategums like 500KG Bomb or even Orbital Laser to get it out. But it was stuck into the grounder some reason, I even tried to go into prone/crouch position from different angles near the package and still it would not show the option to pickup the package! BTW this was in an Automaton controlled territory.

    Hopefully they add an Eagle anti-air stratagem in the future to take care of the flying patrols and bot drops we don’t want to deal with.

    Honestly, some planets have such trash visibility that I think the flares make tons of sense. Think of how illumination flares are used in wartime where soldiers don't have night vision optics (hey arrowhead.... helmet mod here!) - flares are used to illuminate the enemy, which increases their visibility and decreases any their ability to see. I would 100% take these on night missions, and honestly would want a flare gun secondary or grenade.

    Orbital flare concept: lights up dark areas,distract opponents, reduced impact time for orbital stragems while its active. ( Like 380mm gets tighter spread and comes in quicker)

    I’m one of the three people who have ever used the Eagle Smoke. Sometimes I’ll take it on bot elimination missions to temporarily remove 1/3 of the enemies from the picture while I deal with the other 2/3 first. It’s also good for coverage while getting your support weapon, or to blanket extraction if it’s swarmed with heavies. I doubt it’s decent on any objective with a normal-sized map.

    Without a near blackout effect on the map it would be difficult to bring a non damaging or defense boosting strat. It would need to have a very strong distraction effect to break through that

    I noticed that lol, having the acclamator class in the game makes more sense as the acclamator is a ground attack/Invasion warship rather than the venator class for modding the ships, I love helldivers ships and star wars ships, especially the giant dorito battleship.

    Really hope we can get a loadout tabs to quick swap gear. Ive got about 5 different "Builds" that I use often depending on the enemy and what is working atm.

    I still say having an exact loadout for each mission type would cause burnout faster. Cause thats already a big thing with hd2. If we ever get to customize guns in hd2 i could see it being more advantageous to have loadouts... but if not it only takes a few seconds to get your loadout put together as is. I can have mine done in like 20-30 seconds

    I'm still waiting for them to add in specific enemies such as spewers into the map description. I hate loading into a match, not knowing if I have to worry about them and not bringing the proper gear to democratize our enemies.

    With the new Eagle and Global Cooldown modules, full eagle stratagem loadout should be meta for bugs. Bots still have their AA encampments.

    I think it’s funny that if the loading screen takes more then 2 min some people leave and then it’s even funnier when as soon as they leave the game loads but stratagem looks cool

    Who doesn’t want custom loadout slots? Really - I’d like to know. I want them because the icons for armor pieces and primary / secondary weapons take AGES to load for some reason, and having to wait for that is a huge inconvenience for the people I queue up with. Even if we can’t set default stratagems I’d at least like some armor/weapon combo slots

    so ive been wondering for the past few months if itd be possible to have a favorite system. like you favorite armour or weapons and can pick from those instead of EVERYTHING cause theres just...soo much. i love it! but...god theres so much! hearing about a possible loadout instead has me hyped!! its like what i was thinking could be added but better! set a few up for bot missions some for bugs! i cant wait to see it come to the game at some point!

    i run the same loadout 90% of runs. only thing that tends to change is on if i bring a backpack or weapon, the rest are "any use case" items. not much reason to change it up most times unless i want to bring a red-boom build which again wouldn't change around much given there's a set of generally useful strats and most of the rest are too specific outside of certain mission types (120/380/walking/airburst/non-heavy-pen-support-weapons-vbs-bugs/-non-med2-pen-vs-bots/railgun-that-NEEDS-buffs-vs-gunships-ATAT-guns-and-turrets) or are outright useless in their current iterations (mech/mines/smoke)

    I imagine putting saved loadouts in the game isnt as simple as just making a new menu screen for it. They probably just shelved it for now until they have the time to spend making it work

    It would be cool to fight bug in clompete darkness and the only source of light is your flashlight Horror mode, all dark, bugs hunting you from everywhere

    I want them to fix the spawn glitch when joining another's ship, you get stuck inside a railed-off section and have to wait to get pulled into the pods to get freed. And what about the reload glitch? I still will load a fresh mag and suddenly have only 1 shot left before a reload. :\

    God forbid I’m forced to go to Fori Prime again or any planet with that biome, I will for sure bring the flare stratagem. In daylight, I literally cannot see 2 feet in front of my character when I’m in the shadow of a mountain or something, it’s a little unreasonable even

    The only loadout feature I care about is the armor with my weapon and grenade options. It won't be a make or break for me if they don't include the strategems. I do routinely change my strategems based on my mood, so I can understand not including those in the load outs, but having to routinely swap my gear between bots and bugs gets a bit annoying as I don't regularly deviate from my typical loadout.

    Orbital flare desperately needs to be a planetary mod. Just like the weapon experimentation, but the experiments need to actually affect the guns at some point like upgrades they can think of

    I'd love to see a strider vehicle for us aswell. Like an AT-TE from the clone wars. I imagine we unlock it by destroying a set number of factory striders in an MO and Super Earth engineers repurpose those scrapped striders into a massive war machine for the Helldivers.

    Anyone else getting pissed at "Joel"? when I went to bed last night we had just handily defended two planets next to X-45 (Vega Bay and Meissa) I just checked and both are already under attack again and now we're on track to lose both. let us fucking breathe

    @@GlitchUnlimited I think the shield and rocket devastators need to have a distance accuracy falloff. Like less accuracy from farther ranges, if that makes sense. Because sometimes you get through just fine, and other times you get turned into mince meat or flung miles away without being able to do much about it.

    The problem is, not everyone talks about their strategems and what role they are going to play, I.E. anti tank, crowd control, support. I think only a niche few would use this and a great man tai once said "might Vs light, I would rather have another gun then a flashlight anyday "

    I know it’ll be a big ask but imagine a mission where you go underground in a bug nest that’s pitch black and you can only see using flashlights or flares that replace your grenade and light up an area for a few minutes

    Missions like that would be the perfect implementation of difficulties Lvl 10-12. You can’t use most stratagems when raiding inside a deep bug hive, Illuminate warp gate, or Automaton capital ship.

    IMO loadouts would be amazing for solo play. In terms of squad I think the loadouts would aim to isolate each player instead of using team work. Generally I join other groups so I like to be their support, making loadouts based on what ur team has is unique and fun to me..but for solo play hell yeah loadouts Please!!!

    1% of these leaks actually end up happening, thats all this is - overhype that leads to nerfs and bugs, while we wait for the fix. Rinse and repeat. These youtubers just gotta pop out their vids (which I respect)..lol havent seen a vehicle or a new race since you first leaked it in april. This game is dying, it was poorly mismanaged, even with all the communication from devs.

    The flare is going to be another filler strat, emp and smoke also have a niche use but nobody uses them, unless they force you tu use by adding these dark planets I can say for sure it's is just going to become another under used under performing strat

    Why don't we have some kind of small Firing range to shoot and test guns and nads on the Ship?.. And if one of your buddy's gets a little Too friendly with his Fire, they can just thaw out another Cadet 😅

    I think load outs would be a waste for time for the developers. Sure, you could quickly choose your load out and be ready to go, but there is always that one person in the lobby that takes forever to choose their load out.
