Optimal builds are not always the most optimal in terms of a good experience. We get smoked quite a bit trying different loadouts that are off-meta.

Nowadays, the secret META is killing Bile Titans with Shield Generator array. Shield array can kill Bile Titan if they spew their breath right front in their mouth.

Why not the Stalwart, out of interest? If you're accepting not having much in the way of armour pen (and relying on teammates for that), I feel like the Stalwart is more Dakka. Hive Guards' weakness is 'nades anyway

I love Stalwart, but I already did a build with it recently (kzread.info/dash/bejne/ga2ij8GKXZmZidY.htmlsi=0uHsDsQOOlNTrzRT) so wanted to try the other MG. They're both good!

The stalwart is a blast and very good against trash, but the ability to cut down medium enemies at range with the MG makes it more practical. Particularly if you have a team that is covering you during reload. Stalwart might work better on blitz missions where you generally do not stop running full speed.

@@originalSPECTER agreed. The fact that it can reliably kill bile spewers, hive guards, etc. makes it worth it. However, I love the stalwart, and I use it way more. I just like the ability to shred through hunters and stalkers so my teamates can deal with the other stuff.

Thanks! Glad you like the writeups. I think for bugs, my favourite is still the Autocannon + Autocannon Turret build one, it just handles everything well. For bots it's probably the Eruptor + AMR build, again nothing it can't handle and double sniper just feels cool too. But I love messing around with new builds, so I try not to just use those builds in every vid :P

Some clarity for the guard dog’s ammo supply, plus allowing us to refill its ammo would greatly improve the strat. At this point, its inconsistent. You want it to shoot but it will shoot two bullets and refill itself when you need it the most.

Really like this video. The MG is one of those weapons I just love the aesthetic and sound of, but it's hard for me to bring it because I'm not very good. Would you recommend the weapon at difficulty 7 with randoms or is it really just for these sorts of high-cohesion squad plays where you're fulfilling a specific trash-clearing role?

Thanks! Bringing a trash clear support weapon like an MG is actually ok if you have enough heavy killing ability on your strats, e.g. eagle airstrike, 500kg and precision strike (paired with stun nades) has you covered. This specific build is a pure trash killer tho, so I wouldn't bring into quickplay!

What's the different use cases for each of the fire speeds?

Different ranges I suppose, lowest might be easier for long distance, also ammo efficiency where max firerate can waste ammo vs small targets, but is good for large targets. Ultimately I just leave it on max and burst fire if I need more control.

Does the guard dog fully run out of ammo? Or does it have infinite reloads?

It has magazines that need reloading by returning to your backpack, but it can run out of those too and will need to be replenished by picking up ammo.

@@newspiked7385That’s how it’s supposed to work, but I’ve had it just go to sleep after mag or two. Seems like every patch fixes it a little bit more but I wouldn’t depend on it working when you need it.

33:46 Some times those just don't have hatches on them. I honestly don't know what the chances are of it not to have them but I would say probably about 1 in 5 doesn't when I encounter them.

Yeah - my more well-rounded version has Eruptor for bug holes and Chargers, and Stun nades for CC.

@@newspiked7385It reloads the guard dog’s spare mags. I use controller cuz of carpal pain and it’s down on the D-pad to force the guard dog to reload.

Imagine a scientist-type armor, that gives you a blinking light for the samples. Idk what the secondary buff would be tho :-/

why on earth would you run the standard guard dog? That thing has to resupply like every 10 seconds. If you're gonna waste a backpack slot, you might as well have run the heavy machine gun with the supply backpack. or, you could run a jet pack and lay down suppressive fire from an elevated position. I also don't know why you would choose the machine gun sentry over the auto cannon. The machine gun is only good for tier one enemies. The auto canon can take out everything includingbile Titans. This build had so much potential, but you kind of wasted it.

Standard guard dog does more damage and, heavy machine gun is more for heavy enemies, normal one is beter for little enemies and machine gun sentry is way better for crowd control then autocannon. And if u would have paid attention he is the trash clearer for his team so he needs to kill tier 1 enemies

@@jiinx72 I understand the build is to put as many bullets down range as possible, but with the guard dog in its current state, it is inactive as much as it is active. he could've run the stalwart with a resupply backpack and had essentially unlimited ammo.

@@Heisenburger18 my criticism is that the auto canon is overall better. it can kill any enemy in the game, it does stagger, and it has AOE. The machine gun sentry sometimes targets enemies that it can't kill, thus making it useless. as for the guard dog, the DPS might be more than the rover, however, because it has to resupply so frequently, it actually does less damage overall in comparison.
