Is it just me or is Cullen Bohannan deff the MOST underrated badass tv characters in history?? I'd argue for him to go right up there with Walter White, Jax Teller etc...

I’m new to this series & ‘Wow’ 😵 what a series ‘Hell on Wheels’ is Anson Mount as Cullen Bohannan & Common as Elam Ferguson are incredible I did think Elam would be with him til the end 😭 all the characters are amazing. I do think Cullen Bohannan is the Jack Bauer of 24 only in a Western 🤠

the sad part is how the song says as brothers we will stand but Joseph has to kill his real brother.that part always gets to me.truly touching scene.

I remember when this episode 1st aired. It opens with this scene, I think. The brutality of it mixed with the melancholy of “Timshel” is just beautiful. Maybe the best scene of the whole show

This series was my grandfathers fav series. I couldn't sit down long enough to watch it cause I have bad adhd. And can't sit still but I finished it. I miss you grandpa. Ill talk to you about it soon.

Honestly this scene is really what hooked me officially to the series; there's such an elegant sadness in this scene that is such a rare gem for the show

I absolutely love Hell on Wheels. I loved it from beginning to end, season 1 to season 2. A true, epic western series...

I too was surprised when I heard Mumford & Son's song start up for this scene. I turned my Volume to max..! Luv Mumford..!!

Just finished the series, this scene was the best and I can't get over how much pain Cullen Bohannon went through, I couldn't help but tear up on that last railroad spike being hammerred down, he lost so much, friends, lovers, wives and children, thank you Anson for this masterpiece. This series touched my soul

Awesome fight seen. Well put together. Mumford & Sons , Timshel made the scene work great..... Bravo !!! Hell on Wheels fan.

it didn't glorify violence-rather it showed how often we hurt each other, our brothers of every race, creed, and religion.

Actually, it was just an awesome scene with great fitting music by Mumford & Sons. Stop trying to discover 'deep' meaning in everything, and just enjoy the show :)

Leonard Woody you're not actually paying attention to the series if you dont think there's meaning other than ''wowee theyre shooting themselves for fun!'' dramas like these are a form of art, and every form of art has its deeper meaning. having opinions on what the meaning could be is enjoying the show at its best, i encourage you to do the same.

Perfect song for the scene listen to the lyrics. I also like how there is much violence going on and this calm song reflects on the scene and makes you notice the violent details in slow motion.

This is possibly the best moment of Hell on Wheels. The way this season was building with tension, to see the heros of this season, Cullen, Elam, and Joseph completely dominate Pawnee Killer and his boys was perfect. Out numbered but it wasn't even close.

knew this song bc of a friend, this scene came up and I happened to be looking away bc of a sudden txt, as soon as I heard this come on I slowly looked up and the next five minutes or so was lost to me. Amazing song amazing scene.

I have never thought I could fall in love with a carecter from the move. But I did. Amazing story. The actor played character , handsome inside and out.

This is one of my favorite scenes in all of the episodes. It's so awesome and intense.

This was the first episode I saw from this series. Even the first scene, cause I just tuned in. This song, this scenery.. Captivating. Just absolutely captivating.

Beautiful and artistic choice to combine the violence of the scene with the sense of brotherhood among the three main male characters: Cullen, Elam and Joseph. Impressive beginning to the Episode "Timshel" in Season 1 of Hell On Wheels.

Love how Cullen goes melee round and takes out three Natives with hand to hand, blunt weapons. Shows his true ability as a warrior which is what it is. He's a beast. Plus this is Elam, Cullen, and Joeseph in their best all together battle scene. Loved Pawnee Killer, such an asesome name, but glad Joeseph got his brother. All three of them were in beast mode.

One of the mist intense Battlescenes i have ever seen. And i saw a shit lot of them :) The slow pace makes it so amazing i guess.

The music on Hell On Wheels is, hands down, the best i've ever seen on a tv show.

it was a really gutsy move, i guess the writers/producers are really confident in the direction of the story

Third season about to end in 2 days. Over and over I come to 'youtube' to find a song I've heard on the latest HELL ON WHEELS. So many wonderful songs!! I just love the show, everything about it, and those songs over the final scenes....amazing. Surely do hope we're getting a 4th season.

@bkearney004 I agree the show has had a few slow episodes, but the Main Plot, and a few of the subplots are Brilliant.!! Cullen's character is very well written :) So is Lily's character :) Thanks for the comments ..!

Hated what they did to Elam in S4

Well, obviously they achieved the response they wanted. They built a relatable and likeable character, and everyone was surprised by her death. The show is about Cullen, and her death furthered his character.
