There's no place I'd rather live than Southern California. Each location in the world has climate challenges and other resource conditions. We definitely have a lot to manage; however, we're the 13th largest economy in the world (let that sink in), and we have some of the most talented and creative people living here. We also each have a responsibility in helping our urban challenges. I yanked out my lawn. I plan to do more to mitigate my water use.

We approved and have already paid for reservoirs but the stupid government is inept and did not and won't build them.

Just an idea, we have no problem building pipelines across the country to pump gas and oil and building giant storage tanks for them why not built a pipeline system to collect and pump flood water from the super storms that are coming due to global warming from flood prom states and areas to drought prom states and areas. The excess rain and stormwater can be collected in giant holding tanks above and underground or in artificial manmade lakes and ponds ready to be distributed via this water pipeline system to where it's needed most in drought America. It would create jobs for the people that built the gas and oil pipeline system and save our farms and midwestern communities. Who knows, maybe even built small hydro plants along the system to create needed electric power for system use.

CA has not built a reservoir since the 1970's! Well hello, did you not see this coming or were you too busy worrying about how to address someone as he/she/them?

I would not drink recycled tap water unless no good pure water was left. Most people don't drink water they drink sugar drinks. As bad as it may be you can go without water as long as you have sugar drinks something to drink coffee tea pop etc even though your health is going downhill with an acidic diet. You can take a bowl and a washcloth and take a sponge bath. Not ideal but it works. I do it now at times until I get my shower finished I'm off grid.

one thing that is never discussed is Agriculture. It doesn't need to be some huge lot taking up all the water. it can be in local backyards, street trees etc. We use too much. Also, we need to be real with ourselves, maybe some places should have city population limits
