SFAR 73 Awareness training: Energy Management Lesson for Helicopter Pilots; with audio this time.
In the event of an engine failure, if you manage your energy properly, this contributes greatly to being well set up for a safe autorotation landing. You as the pilot can control where on the heigh velocity diagram you are flying. Learn why this is important in this video.
I used the animation I made a long time ago for my students and overlayed some audio.
This lesson uses the R22 for the animations and POH however the concepts still are applicable for helicopter students of other helicopters, including the R44.
