Bellatrix was always the character that scared me (even more than Voldemort) the scene where she tortured Hermione freaked me out but the behind the scenes just show how nice she is in real life

Thats because Voldy is cold and calculating - anytime he kills someone he does it quick, easy, he does it because he has to in order to get what he wants. Bellatrix takes her time ajd enjoys it. Shes sadistic. Voldemort never made it personal (except harry of course) but Bellatrix would torture anything and anyone to have a laugh

It would have been interesting to see. On the other hand, I think it's easier to accept Sirius being taken out by her cheap shot Avada Kedavra spell rather than being killed in a proper duel.

@@marcw6875 In the books Bellatrix didn't use the killing curse at all, she stunned him and he was thrown through the veil, it was almost like a tragic accident... The movie adaptation works well for its medium as it has to be visually impactful and meaningful, but part of me still wishes they prolonged the duel a bit more. Having read the books I was really looking forward to seeing the two of them duel, as it was kind of an equal rivalry, but they ended up cutting it out pretty much, with no interaction between Sirius and Bellatrix besides that sneak Avada Kedavra from her...

Same!! Bellatrix really does bother me but Helena Bonham Carter is just a queen and an icon!!!!

Helena did such an amazing job of playing Bellatrix. To act in such a believable way the role of probably the most unhinged character in the entire series is a true testament to her skill as an actress. Voldemort was messed up but Bellatrix was truly insane.

Playing a character like hers is incredibly difficult. The villians are often hardest to transform into for the scenes because very often the villians are played by super friendly and wholesome actors that are just good at turning a 180 on their persona the moment the camera starts rolling. Respect for Helena, an amazing actress.

It would be so funny if the wizarding world was actually an 'Emperor's new clothes' situation, where everyone was just pretending everyone was doing magic, while no one really was. Until one day a kid shows up at Hogwarts and after a couple of days is just like "Wait. What is going on here? Nobody is actually doing any magic." Helena Bonham might have taken the mantle of being one of the most famous character actors to not have a trophy for it.

her performance was a big part of what made me a Bellatrix fan, plus like many villain actors she seems super nice and friendly in real life

Whenever you think you’re in the hardest dilemma life has given to you, remember Helena totally nailed both!!

The thing is - when Helena is playing Hermione pretending to be Bellatrix - she's just fantastic. She and Emma worked together so that Helena could walk and talk and act like Hermione - and she absolutely pulls it off. When I was watching the first time it was like I was watching Hermione. Not Bellatrix, not Helena, not Emma - but Hermione all dressed up in black. And of course - as Bellatrix - she's absolutely vicious. .

I love Daniel just completely agreeing with Helena on him being more mature than her but that not meaning much with just a nod and a shake.

Such a goth icon! She’s one of my favourite actress, and made Bellatrix definitely my favourite HP’s character.

Bellatrix was an insane and scary loose cannon character in the films and Helena played her perfectly.

HBC’s ability to act as Hermione acting as Bellatrix always amazed me.

How can you not love this woman?

If she were younger, I might offer Jennifer Saunders (of AbFab) as a good Bellatrix.

It is a total mindf*ck to think about Helena playing Hermione playing Bellatrix. The way the actor has to still keep the small essences from Bellatrix while delving inside the mind of Emma and Herminone combining how Emma and Hermione would think is pretty amazing and it shows the talent Helena has

I love her! she always manages to shine in every role she is

I could imagine that Carter becomes just a "okay, act," from the director and than just starts doing stuff that comes to her mind like Bill Murray

I like how Bellatrix is explaining everything in the movie of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2. She makes me smiles 💗. And I was like: "What are trying to do with me?" *Smiles*
