Career Q&A with Helen Mirren. Moderated by Jenelle Riley, Variety.
Helen Mirren won international recognition for her work on stage, screen and television. For her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II in 2006 of "The Queen," she received an Academy Award®, Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Award®, and BAFTA Award for Best Actress. She was also named Best Actress by virtually every critic’s organization from Los Angeles to London. In 2014 she was honored with the BAFTA Fellowship for her outstanding career in film.
Mirren is currently a double SAG Award nominee for her performances in Bleecker Street Media’s Trumbo and The Weinstein’s Company’s Woman in Gold.

Jenelle Riley is such a fantastic interviewer. She actually listens and responds in the moment. It's harder than it looks and she nails it every time.

Helen Mirren is an amazing actress. A true one. A supremely elegant woman.
Like most actors that are really, really good at their craft I think Helen Mirren would have made a fantastic psychologist. Great insight, and razor sharp intellect.
I saw her in The Audience on Broadway. Nothing short of exquisite... goosebumps down my neck! Emmy so very well deserved!

I am friends with someone who was her stand in on an upcoming picture and this person never had to do any work. Helen did most of it - tremendous lady. Can't say enough.
Apart from the fact that she's clearly very charming and intelligent, you'd have to be delighted if you married Mirren young, she's been hot for the last 50 odd years.

Helen Mirren and Joanna Lumley are English treasures the way u both speak with upper claaaaas English accents soothes me ... the ASMR community understands
Love Helen Mirren but disagree with the assumption that an amateur production of Hamlet must have been bad. The performances were obviously good enough for her to be engaged by and understand the story. I've seen amazing amateur productions, and brain-numbing professional productions. Sometimes the actors' and directors' pay rates don't define the quality.

It's also possible she meant raw sets & costumes. Not necessarily the acting.
No applause for "Cal"?! She's brilliant in it and it remains my favourite of all her films. And "Blue Remembered Hills" is incredible because you forget within about 5mins that you're watching adults.
Class act. Period.

Helena Mirren has great taste in clothes, she looks fantastic , I hope I look as well as she does when I reach my 70's, I dont look good in my late 40's ,coivid weight gain, classy lady 🥰
I never hear much about her work in Peter Greenaway's films
I think she confused Robert Redford with Jack Nicholson? Is that possible? She was in The Pledge with Jack, not Robert...

I love the Host's interviewing style, she really listens to her guests and enjoys it. But I wish they would give her a better chair to sit in, she looks "squeezed in".🙄

Great interview but small detail - something that bothered me all throughout the interview- What's with the waterbottles? why not glass bottles? tab water in a jug? glasses? It's time we change our small habits. I'm from Belgium. People can openly curse on television here, in moderation, but plastic used in this way would be seen as such an eye sore.
