Heilung - Traust (Unofficial Music Video)

Музыка

I really love this beautiful song. There are many music videos based on this song, but my version is focused on the lyrics and deep atmosphere. Here I used the footage from «The Vikings» series and from the music video of Wardruna called «Voluspá». Peace and respect to Heilung and Wardruna, they are great musicians! Thanks for watching! I hope you will enjoy it!
I do not own any of these audio/video materials. All rights go to their respective owners.

Trust (English translation) Once sat women, they sat here, then there. Some fastened bonds, some impeded an army, Some unraveled fetters: Escape the bonds, flee the enemy! Then first I will chant thee The charm oft-tried, That Rani taught to Rind; From the shoulder whate'er Mislikes thee shake, For helper thyself shalt thou have. (I wash off the hatred of my enemies and the theft and anger of rich men.) Then next I will chant thee, If needs thou must travel, And wander a purposeless way: The bolts of Urth Shall on every side Be thy guards on the road thou goest. (I wash off the hatred of my enemies and the theft and anger of rich men.) Then third I will chant thee, If threatening streams The danger of death shall bring: Yet to Hel shall turn Both Horn and Ruth, And before thee the waters shall fail. (I wash off the hatred of my enemies and the theft and anger of rich men.) Then fourth I will chant thee, If come thy foes On the gallows-way against thee: Into thine hands Shall their hearts be given, And peace shall the warriors wish. (I wash off the hatred of my enemies and the theft and anger of rich men.) Then fifth I will chant thee, If fetters perchance Shall bind thy bending limbs: O'er thy thighs do I chant A loosening-charm, And the lock is burst from the limbs, And the fetters fall from the feet. (I wash off the hatred of my enemies and the theft and anger of rich men.) Then sixth I will chant thee, If storms on the sea Have might unknown to man: Yet never shall wind Or wave do harm, And calm is the course of thy boat. (I wash off the hatred of my enemies and the theft and anger of rich men.) Then seventh I chant thee, If frost shall seek To kill thee on lofty crags: The fatal cold Shall not grip thy flesh, And whole thy body shall be. (I wash off the hatred of my enemies and the theft and anger of rich men.) Then eighth will I chant thee, If ever by night Thou shalt wander on murky ways: Yet never the curse of a Christian woman From the dead shall do thee harm. (I wash off the hatred of my enemies and the theft and anger of rich men.) Then ninth will I chant thee, If needs thou must strive With a warlike giant in words: Thy heart good store Of wit shall have, And thy mouth of words full wise. (I wash off the hatred of my enemies and the theft and anger of rich men.) Once sat women, they sat here, then there. Some fastened bonds, some impeded an army, Some unraveled fetters: Escape the bonds, flee the enemy! Be wary of western medicine and doctors. Don’t give up. Take your health into your own hands and research natural methods of cures. Seek out advise from herbalists and other natural practitioners such as homeopathy, etc. And be very mindful of what you consume. We are what we eat and many diseases are caused by processed foods, GMO foods, and the pesticides and chemical fertilizers given to plants, that we and farm animals eat.

It takes me away every time I hear it... So much power and goosebumps... My ancient viking blood starts to rush... My grandfather made a very long investigation where our roots were... He found out that our ancient family were vikings in sweden. I don't know why but it is making me strong and proud... When I was a child and teenager my parents always travelled to warm countries like Spain, Marocco, Thailand etc. This was never my goal. I always wanted see the north... With 18 I travelled the first time to Sweden and I was so impressed and it felt like being home... Now I am almost 60 and I visited all scandinavian countries uncountable times and Ireland too. Those countries are like a giant magnet for me... When I had left the countries I was sad and felt lost... About 25 years ago I bought a little house in Sweden and this is my home... My husband is from Senegal, West Africa, he was never outside of Africa when we met in 2005. Over the years I told him about our family and the past. He was very impressed and interested in it... When we were watching Vikings he said watching me was seeing me glowing and shining and he said he could feel that I am a Viking through and through... Our house in Sweden don't have electricity, heaters etc. It is like in ancient times and this is what we both love so much and we wouldn't change that...

I really love that this video gives some credit to the spinners. I learned to use a drop-spindle (the thing the wrinkly old lady is using) as a teenager--it's lovely and meditative and connects you so viscerally to the past and utterly wrecks your hands. I'm slightly in awe that they seem to have found a live human with the right calluses. But seriously: every thread in all the garments the warriors are wearing and every bit of sailcloth passed through the hands of someone like that spinner. I think it's really beautiful that Heilung implies that the war-blessing was woven into the cloth --> that the people supporting the warriors were as important as the warriors themselves.

I don't think I've ever had a song resonate so hard and completely with me I feel blessed to have found this one 3 days ago. Day 6 sleep dep/15 months of pure hell and trauma. I started to crack today and put this on. Been listening to it on repeat on/off all day long It gives my whole body chills(Frisson), makes my eyes heavy, my heart warm..and makes me want to pray for the first time in YEARS. I'm just 3.5 months out oF another crazy opiate addiction. This song has allowed me to retap into refinding my spiritually. My heart feels open for the first time in 1.5 yrs. And the translation is Just as beautiful as I thought it was. Don't need to understand the words to understand the meaning. Blessed be beautiful people 💜

And lo, I call the wolves of the wood. I call the vanir and aesir. I call my ancestors before me. And before me, amongst a roaring tide, I see 3 wolves. Winter's Sons. And behold, the offered me food, water and shelter, each responding in order. I came crawling, offering myself as a lost, weak man. First came the youngest, Vaern, offering a leg of lamb. Second came the middle son, Suffig, opening his mouth to offer water from a well not too far from the shore. Third came Fentýr, a mass of a creature who circled me thrice and surrounded me with his fur, the warmth of a roaring fire. After 3 days, they lead me the well Suffig came from. There, glowing in a hearth like embrace....I hear my father, I hear my grandfather....i hear alfather 🍻

I can't describe in words the spiritual state given by this song! I love Scandinavian culture. Northern Europe has something special. I am Romanian. The origins of the Romanian people come from Dacia, or the Geto-Dacians, an ancient people before Christianity, from the Carpathian mountains. Romania's name comes from the conquest and plunder of Dacia by the Roman Empire. It is said that Dacia is the cradle of European civilization.
