    In Germany most people know what an absolute horrible human being she is. Her show "Germanys Next Top Model" is basically a showcase for toxic behavior and bodyshaming. She is truly awful and should not have any platform. Looks like her facade is still holding in the US.

    The desert is odd. It does not absorb and gradually release heat as other terrains do. When I camped in the desert near the track at the Reno Air Races in Nevada I would climb out of my tent in the morning shivering in a down jacket. When the sun broke over the horizon at dawn I was down to a sweater. By 9 am I was in a white T-shirt and getting hot. (P.S... My father froze to death in the Arizona desert on his 80th birthday when he crashed his truck around midnight driving home and tried to walk out. RIP dad).

    That background looks just like Joshua Tree National Park. Yes its high desert. Its super hot in summer super cold in winter and winds can reach 100mph in some places in the Coachella Valley. Its only like 2 hours from LA but takes 9.5 from Santa Cruz where I live. We also have extremes the SC mountains often are 20 hotter or colder than the seaside. The Monterey bay is the serengehtti of the ocean. 2 great white shark attacks last week. Many very wild places in the CA topography. Cant' wait to go back to Joshua Tree CA. Choose your months carefully due to heat, cold snow and winds can get up to 100-120. Ask for advice.

    Don't know about GNTM, but if it is more or less like ANTM, then that's got to be seen in context. First off, a huge portion of it is pretty much an act. You need "drama" in order to get people to watch. And it's not like these 17 year old girls are somehow tragically vulnerable, weak pathetic targets. I mean, they singed up for the show. They want to be models. Eh. Sounds like people not really getting the show, to me.

Again, in Germany it's actually considered good parenting, if you are rich but your children experience what it's like to not have everything covered/paid for you. Heidi Klum worked hard her whole life, so why shouldn't she pay a business class seat with her own money. Maybe she was trying to teach the kids a lesson on this specific day. Maybe that particular flight was very full and they didn't have another three seats available in business class. Who knows! But I am not going to take this as proof for knowing her personality. From what I've seen she's got a great bond with her daughter. (Sorry for the novel, but I find people hating on the internet sad. And there are so many.)

Not her! 😲 What she has inflicted on the minds of countless impressionable young girls and women round the globe, all in the name of "fashion", but in truth simply propelled by greed, self-centeredness, and callousness, will take innumerable therapy sessions to correct. Among her many "accomplishments": the ability to induce self-hate and self-harm, body dysphoria, low self-esteem, eating disorders, and social phobia. It would have been great if she had used her considerable assets, physical and cognitive, to advocate for girls and women to embrace their bodies without reservation, without regard for the outside male perspective, without the reinforcement of beauty standards that are never attainable for the vast majority of her target group. My heart aches for all the girls who, watching one of her shows, are made to feel utterly inadequate, insignificant, and dismissable, only because they fall outside of Her Majesty's ideal. Stephen, please, never invite her back.

    Oh, FFS. Project Runway is a contest for talented young designers to showcase their skills. Each season there is at least one chance for the designers to dress regular people who aren't 6'2 & 85 lbs soaking wet. Tim Gunn especially has advocated for plus size models & always encourages designers to create clothes for 'normal people.' Christian Siriano, one of their most talented winners, regularly designs clothes for normal sized women, including a formal dress he made for Leslie Jones when other designers wouldn't or couldn't. So take a freakin pill & realize you're probably confusing Project Runway with America's Next Top Model, & you've mistaken Heidi Klum, a white woman from Germany, for Tyra Banks, a black woman from California. And Tyra has also spoken out against the fashion industry's ridiculous standards.

    @@MsRollingstone11 I think @ktinxx is talking about "Germany's Next Top Model", which indeed is a show without any moral standards or responsibily towards their underage female candidates/talents. Everything that is said in the above post is correct, and Heidi Klum is in the middle of it as the moderator. Underage talent is regularly gaslighted, manipulated and lied to to evoke drama and conflict between them, denied contact to their parents, pressed to do things they don't want to do, pressed to be more "risqué" in photo shoots than they are comfortable with, often including nudity and/or implied sexual settings with male models. All under the pretense that "you can't be a model if you are 'touchy' about shooting nude or doing whatever the client wants". Stephen should not invite her back, and he shouldn't have invited her in the first place. Her work here in Germany has constantly been egregious for many years. I don't care about her Halloween costumes.

    Hey Stephen, in the Meanwhile segment that you did recently... I really don't know what video it was, so leaving this randomly.... be careful about the super gonorrhea jokes about the guy from Austria, because STDs are already very shameful and the person probably feels bad... They can even come from people cheating on someone and whatever... but people always assume you are a bad person because you got one... but on the other side, superbugs are bad, because you have to use lots of drugs to try to beat it down and a lot of people are allergic to those drugs, so the person can get really sick just to try to stop it... and that disease in particular, the microbe can attack your brain and cardiovascular system, so it's rough... I get the funny and it was funny... but kinda lay off the person until it is over, because they could literally die from it.... I realize it has been around for like 30 years, and it's not new to the world, but meh.... It's rare enough that when it does happen, it can be bad... You don't know his situation and you don't know if he is okay... so like... ease up a bit and not make him a global joke, until you know he is okay... That thing is also the same reason doctors get really mad about people not using all their antibiotics and giving them to other people... It's a whole thing... You can't get high off antibiotics, but the process of people giving a pill or two to other people when they get a cold is the reason that we get drug-resistant diseases like that.... That's why they are under prescription....

    I wouldn't make fun of someone with cancer... so don't make fun of someone just because it has to do with sex.... It's just as deadly... It could really happen to anyone... even someone in a "monogamous" relationship... If I could tell you the amount of people who go through abuse centers that only left, just because they got an STD and are trying to get away from someone who is cruel... It's funny, cuz it happens to people who deserve it, but it's not funny, because it also happens to people who don't....

  • @Taricus

    @Taricus

    those things have a ripple effect, more or less... and they hit communities and not just individuals... and shame stops people from getting treatment and causes a feedback loop so it stays in those communities... so just don't shame the person for going to the doctor... otherwise, EVERYone would have it....

    Heidi Klum's show "Germany's Next Top Model" has been accused of having their participants lie to the TSA, about the reason they're entering the United States. The show is primarily shot there, so the participants are essentially working, and therefore should have a working visa, but the show runners/Klum only hand them touris visa for the duration of the fliming. The reason for that is to save on taxes. Furthermore, the show promotes body-shaming and forceful over-sexulisation of young women. According to a 2015 survey by _Internationale Zentralinstitut für das Jugend- und Bildungsfernsehn_ identified Germany's Next Top Model as one of the leading causes/accelerator of bulimia and other eating disorders in young women in Germany.
