What are the rules for this type of racing, I'm Canadian and I used to enduro race, (no yellows, only reds) and you still needed to win, and I know it's not a derby!

It is "racing with contact" and points are awarded to the first 3 that complete the ten laps and cross the finishing line-----as the years have progressed there has become a lot more emphasis on landing a big hit on an opponent or following them into the fence---this has always been acceptable in a team race, but in the 70's and 80's (my era for racing), if you destroyed an opponents car like this on an a normal race day, it would end up a brawl on the track and in the pits! Turning around in the middle of the track and trying to hit an opponent head on will be judged as an illegal manoeuvre and points will be deducted---this will only be allowed in the final heat when you have raced 10 laps and the flag is dropped to allow it to become a Demolition Derby. British Demolition Derbys are totally different to the American ones. Demolition Derbys are only held at the end of a team race or occasionally throughout the racing season as a way of finishing off cars that are no longer fit to race and the only rule is to avoid direct contact on the driver's door(not always possible).

@@bendavies1078 I thought they brought it cones to denote that you could turn around and head-on within a certain area (usually within the bends, not on the straight). Not a rule I'm in favour of TBH, but certainly on my videos you can see head on stuff. Usually the DD's at the end aren't worth staying for, it's the most damaged cars of the night dragging themselves around on 3 or less wheels and lightly nudging each other. Funny, in a way, but neither a race nor a destruction derby lol

@@cdname47 I am just going back to the rules that were in force when I raced at High Edge,Crewe and the original Belle vue circuits back in the 80's.

@@bendavies1078 ah I see. Yes I think the turning around comes came in about 3 or 4 years ago in a vain attempt to say "we dont like you turning around but we know you're doing it anyway, can you at least do it in the bands where its slower and not risk hurting ourselves at top speed on the straights" But banger drivers are a law unto themselves. Half the time they'll go a whole meeting with no contact and others they'll break every rule going including hitting under reds. Cant tame them...
