It's always amazing to me as a guy raised on US roundy-rounders to see the detail and preparation put into cars that will be raced one time in Bangers.

The Jaguar XF has been on sale since 2007. Given the quality of Jaguar the recent years, it's not a surprise that many are already going to scrap.

Ok, its a race for drivers that have qualified for over the season in other races, this is the highlight of the years WORLD FINAL.. you build cars to the rule book, get each car scrutineered before the race, then line up in order drawn from "the hat" then from a rolling start have to compete a certain number of laps ON THE TRACK to be given your place results, the winner is then that years world final winner.. Lots of cars have lots of work put into them, also many have race built engines for maximum power, but some just go to wreck "within the rules" anything moving or not.. I done 14 years of it, and loved it.

Cannot like enough, one of the best elimination races ever! Wish we had this in the great PNW, BC Canada, it'd certainly give some little shits something ta do imho.. too many bored teens, give them something fun imho.

I miss 2019.

They must locate the circuit next to a recycling point or near an shreder center, in order to be more efficient and ecological. This is a good way to say farewell to all these cars.

I like classic Granada's too, but if everybody whinging here doesn't want to see them on the banger track, get down the scrapyard and buy one before they do. Most of them only look nice because they have fresh paint, they're probably in a horrendous state underneath. Same with the cars they crash in Heartbeat - they look like mint 1960's cars but really they're full of filler and given a quick spray-over.

Love the screaming from the crowd , you just know if they had the balls we’d have another Fred west on our hands

Great stuff Sammy, Was a regular at the cowdenbeath racewall in the 90s great to see the the usual sanitised health and safety bs hasn't taken over , still looks just as mental

much more exciting than in New Zealand, we raced on wet dirt tracks, one direction only, no intentional hitting in the drivers door, if you didnt follow the rules they would send a strengthened stockcar to take you out. loved racing tho, lol

Should put some cameras under the hood, so we can see what's happening to the kinetics of the engine.

Obviously you don’t know there’s drivers who are actually involved in classic cars for a living, so yes you will see them raced but how many stay or are restored for the road by using the parts from donor cars Anyway it was a great meeting seeing 250 plus cars being smashed up last Saturday at Ipswich Roll on next year when we do it all over again

I live in Japan and here an 11 year old car is considered almost prehistoric. No end of perfectly good ones get scrapped / shipped out to poorer countries in Asia, never mind if the steering wheel's on the wrong side. Maybe Japan ought to have banger racing too!

Unders means smaller engine cars for example under 2 litre only/under 1600s only, overs mean unlimited bangers (any engine size) and b2b means back to basic which are limited contact and minimal “banger build” required.

I raced for PRI for 14 years, and it started off just old bangers but gradually we got to see drivers turning up with cars so new we could only guess where they came from..It was old school still when i walked away In 1986 but even then the paint jobs were good on some out there, but Even I used race built motors (pintos & essex V6) that I built myself, and had a reputation for quite reliable engines..

Build a race car with nice paint and wheels, sometimes a classic. Load up and drive to track, show the car proudly. Green flag drops, floor it into the next car in front of you. Done in a quarter of a lap. WTF??????????????

Tight ass us never let a race like this go on. Some of the cars stalled in the corner. They get started back up decide to hit the next M/F coming around the corner at 45. Not good ending.

1st car to do the 20 laps wins.BUT there are racers and there are wreckers.Also half way round both bends on the armco are two red lines.in that area you can stop turn round and then take on any of the cars going by.National bangers are allowed to follow in just not the drivers door.checkout Spedeworth for the full rules..I was at this event standing in the red zone .great night

They weld in cages (well, box section, not "proper" cages) and there's a rule against hitting the driver's door. People do get hurt, and sometimes even killed, but this is kind of a tradition. Outside of this Britain is just as bad as the USA, even worse in some cases.
