In this Part 2 video, the three-man crew from Heavy Metal, LLC assemble and raise 5 internal 10-foot-high post and A frame roof assemblies, and then assemble and raise the 7th front post and A frame structure with the front gable installed. Next, the crew carefully levels all seven post and A frame roof truss assemblies, and permanently attach them using sheet metal screws. The framing of our 12-foot-wide x 10-foot-high x 25-foot-long metal RV carport is now complete!
Background:
A crew of three workers from Heavy Metal, LLC arrived at 11 a.m. on a Friday, an hour early. I was not fully prepared to record video of the crew, who immediately went to work. Three hours later, my hands and fingers numb from holding my iPhone as steady as I could to record video while running around following the action, I was totally exhausted! Impressed by the hard work and coordination by the crew, I gave each a $20 tip. But then, after the crew had departed and all was quiet, and I took the time for a closer inspection of the new metal RV carport, I discovered some significant damage to the side panels, including black shoe prints, scratches and gouges in the painted surface of the metal. I reported this damage to the seller of the metal carport, and to the manufacturer and installer, Heavy Metal, providing still photos and videos of the damage. Both companies agreed that this damage is unacceptable and agreed that repairs would be made to my satisfaction.
Total cost of the metal RV carport: $4,772.64 plus $500 down payment = $5,272.64
