And here we see a native gravis-insectum. This insect is known for using it’s heavy weight in order to weigh itself down and walk across small lakebeds or rivers. Despite it’s small stature, it can use the gas canisters strapped to it in order to breathe for up to four hours and all it needs to do to refill them is to walk up to the surface and take in the air. *shows small clip of heavy walking from water and onto land*. Remarkable, however the most remarkable thing about this beetle is it’s inability to walk in all liquids. Of course there are the obvious ones, acid, vinegar, and lit oil, however there are some less obvious ones. *brings container that has heavy in it*. For you see the gravinsectum is incapable of leaving certain liquids due to their consistency, leaving it be stuck inside them and drown. Here we see an example of this, see, if we fills this container full of olive oil. *current video plays*. You’ll see that this beetle is unable to leave and will be left to die in here.
