You are right about having to hand fit the cable end to fit the original lever cable adjuster. I just took the metal end off, and slid the cable housing in the adjuster. I ride a 1971 Bultaco Pursang 350 with AMAL levers and the thread pitch was different on my set up so I couldn't swap them like you suggested. I found that this thing dropped the pull weight by about 20 percent. A help but not quite one finger for me anyway. It did take quite a bit of fiddling with the cable adjustments to get it to fully release but not slip either. Clutch lever movement increased for the amount of movement at the actuator lever on the engine. My bike already had the actuator lever extended 1/2". These bikes have a tough clutch, as you aren't going to be using it as much on an MX track, but I am trail riding this vintage bike. 58 and a replacement hip on a MX track would be an unnecessary risk. I was thinking about trying one of the cheap hydraulic setups you see on ebay and amazon. Have you tried one of those? Great video as usual Vegas! Thanks for posting it.

I was watching your 10 mods for your 250fx and you pointed out the risk of the long exhaust bracket bolts crashing into the engine case and damaging it. So I shortened the bolts on my 250fx to eliminate that risk. Thanks for the tip!!

@@vegasromaniac This easy pull device is an old thing, indeed, I had one with my KX 250 1986. Still have the device in a box. The bike is long gone... The downside is that it change the leverage ratio of the lever and the engagement point is lengthened. I tried it on my CRF 450 last year and removed it after a few rides... I don't like the weird effect on the engagement point of the clutch. And by thew way... our argument about the 250 vs 450 is over. Me too.Fitted one to my 2019 Tiger.Although the effort was less,so was the travel length at the clutch proper. This gave so little travel that the clutch plates were not separating properly and I had clutch drag.

  • @vegasromaniac

Good idea but impossible to do there is not longer arm for the actuator also if the travel it's to long at the bottom, you will scrape the cable on the mounting pojt and breaknit there, this is a easy fix and so far it works great..

I put one of these on my xt350 and I gained maybe, at best, 20% easier. And that is with a brand new clutch cable.. I think I will be making an extension for my clutch lever arm as well. Since I have a lot of travel in my clutch.
