I have a 4 year old Hancock and he’s amazing. Fast learner,quiet, and fast. He’s got Doc Bar and Driftwood in his pedigree. I don’t know a whole lot about horses but I’m learning. I know my Hancock is gonna be something special. And he’s blue. 😂

Thanks Henson and Jasper for the video. I enjoyed it. Yes I have heard the the Hancock breed of horse can be on the tuff side but once trained they are a great cattle horse tuff as nails for work and stamina. Jasper is a great hand to have around any one that can make some thing out of a pony will be great big horse trainer.

I bought a really good looking Hancock bred mare, bay roan, 16 hands, she also had all of fame Jackie Bee on her dam's side. She was a little hard to catch, but once you got the halter on her she was like a puppy dog. I didn't get to ride her a lot because of my job. She never offered to buck. I bred her to a beautiful blue roan. She gave me a gorgeous blue roan colt and a beautiful bay roan filly. My neighbor 's son owns him now. He's about 12 now, gentle as a puppy. His kids ride him. I kept the filly. She was an absolute joy. Unfortunately I lost her to navicular disease when she was 5. Broke my heart. Both were 15 hands. All 3 of them had nice heads.

Great video. Love how these young men have such a great mentor! It never gets old watching the PDR gather and move cattle. Of course Henson's commentary is the icing on the cake.

Great video, love Henson's since of humor, those boys are pretty handy helpers. I think it's how they are started and consistency that's more important then breeding or what you feed them.

That’s any horse that’s being used, especially when they are young. I’m pushing 70 and have ridden most lines of QH. My best and most trusted have been Hancocks or grade.

Hancock's are thinkers, if you teach them to buck they'll give it their all. Big hearts and no quit.

Great video, enjoyed the cattle drive with the boys, Jasper is going to be a great Painted Desert cowboy with your training, it shows just what a natural he is and how much he loves it.

I've learned that no matter what the blood line is some horses will buck no matter what. My last horse never bucked I was sure glad of that cause I was in my late 50s and didn't want to deal with that cause if I had hit the ground I was going to be sore lol.

Great video, enjoyed Henson and Joe Hancock bronc humor lol…I owned a Hancock head horse, had a quirk or two but good ride. Enjoyed the kids 👍🏼

My relative in Oklahoma rodeo got older farm sold bought horses no one could handle he would tain them for anything plowing dragging trees then he sell trade them lf he sold u arodeo bronc that he end up with he teach them rope ride cattle with them he would always tell u don.t use spurs on theses ol broncs they will buck his horses were were trained the best farm train horses all he ever did.😊

Hancock horses are wonderful when you get them broke. But sometimes they try to break you. I’ve got some scars on my arms to show how some of them come at you when they remove you from the saddle Great horses when you finely win their respect 😊

I just bought a heavy Hancock x Fire Fox 2yr old palomino filly. Haven’t got her yet (this weekend if the weather holds) I think she’s going to be fast and smart with a lot of try. My friend thinks she’s going to be a rocket ship 🚀😂 I think Hancocks get a bad rep bc they’re an *actual* cowboy horse. Not trying to kick sand, I’m just being honest. This is my first Hancock filly to start, hopefully she turns out well Lol However- I can say from experience, **most** palominos have a quirky personality. You either click or you don’t. Something with the color gene IMO spanning all kinds of breeds

The only thing with Hancock horses is that you need to respect them and not push them too hard if they don't understand what you want them to learn. You have to back off and slow down until they lick their lips. Once they know what you want they're happy. Push too hard when they don't understand and they're liable to get agitated because they want to please.

That “cattle-railroad-crossing” thing…? My hair raises seeing it happen…😰. Monkey see, monkey do… I don’t know Henson…if I see a bunch of people doing the same…you can bet on it, I’ll do the opposite…😂🤣…. Oh, I bet little Brooks didn’t see a coyote or a rabbit, I’m pretty sure it was a kangoroo…🤔😮🤣…btw, how is Mighty Eagle doing?? See y’all 👍👋🇧🇪

The cattle good and healthy there Henson. Well Done there Jasper on Gizmo pushing the couple of cows into the gate. The horse Henson is riding is he there at you guys ranch for training? Henson you need to ware a Wild Rag on cold days. Are you guys going to cut Plenty, or leave him a stud horse? Its very cool to see Henson working with his boys.

Plenty is here to stay- time will tell if he’s fit to be a stud horse for the PDR.

Hancock horses are bred to be used like you start and use most people want them for their color and to keep in the backyard. It all depends on how you start and ride them. That’s just my opinion

I have a beautiful Hancock bred mare, she is super smart and likes to please , I love her but seemed like her back was real tight a lot when starting her and tested her and found out she is pssm1 , so good I found out because it can be managed with low sugar diet. Hancock is apparently one of the bloodlines that can carry the gene for pssm, so maybe this is why they get a bad rap sometimes? Plenty that don’t carry it, but if you are having an issue with a Hancock maybe worth checking, cheap to test.

Hancock are tough ranch horses we don’t mind having that blood line , we had a son of joe Hancock, he was a coming 4 yr old but he step wrong and snap his front arm, above the knee, freak deal … but don’t care for blue Valentine lines there either broncy, stubborn, or dumb acting .. but good video 👍🏼

Try a Skipper W horse. Gorgeous, well built but a little ormery.
