What a wonderful movie! No special effects, no nudity, no foul language - yet keeps you glued to the screen. How much I love the classy old movies!
Loved this movie, I wish I went the same way he did, I am 75 years old and totally alone and waiting to go back to my maker!!😂🎉

Do your best to stay in the best physical health you can manage. Mental health, too. Read books by early authors. HG Wells, Jack London, etc. they will transport you to other times, other places. They will ring true because the authors were of those times and places. Vicarious adventure is better than no adventure at all. Appreciate every sunrise and sunset, even in the rain. Bonne chance.

Your journey to the other side will be so joyful if you have any love in your heart. That's what you will feel and you will hear beautiful music.
As a young boy this movie was where I fell in love with Gene Tierney, one of the most beautiful women ever to grace a movie screen.

Oh yes , she's something else. I saw her in the razors edge and I said this woman can act because she was so mean in that it was believable.
What an absolutely entertaining movie.Old days, style, fashion all were so tantalizing. That old manner of speaking, the earlier phrases, now gone out of the , window were so winsome. Would love to return to those times when things appeared less complicated. Mustn't forget the adorable grandfather .Deserves special mention. Just goes to show that there is really no need for violence , vulgarity, to make a film interesting.
I thought I had seen this movie, but I had confused it with Heaven Can Wait (1978) with Warren Beatty. That version pales to this one. I will watch a Don Ameche movie anyday❤ He was married to only one woman from 1932 to 1986 when she passed away.

Very underrated actor is performance in this movie was outstanding born to play that role.
Gene Tierney was one of the most stunningly beautiful women in Hollywood. Always a pleasure to see her.
Such a Sweet movie!!! If only They'd make more of them these days. There is a desire to watch movies that make one Happy and Laugh. They are making so many movies about Monsters, or Tragedy, or Super Heroes, or Zombies, or Political, or Reality T.V. with people who who have no morals, or comedies that aren't all that funny or 50 commercials about pharmaceuticals that could give you any number of issues without the benefits of actually curing you. I don't even watch the television much anymore unless it's an old movie on.
'...all i can say is: Chins up!' 😅😂😅 No one should want to be an old maid in Kansas. New York, maybe, but not Kansas.🤭 It's a bad habit to wish you were dead. A very bad habit. Jasper is my new favorite character in this movie. He must have fun working for two comedians. Daisy looks like she's just chillin' for her shillin'. 70 is not old. It's just, well, almost elderly. This is a nice movie. I like it. Grandpa is a treasure. Thank you for downloading it.
😂60...what a different time. 60 now is being still fit
Warren Beatty's 1981 movie Heaven can wait is NOT a remake of this film; it was actually based on an old movie called Here comes Mr. Jordan. Causing widespread confusion ever since. So why wasn't it called Here comes Mr. Jordan then? Copyright issues, different studios being ornery, blah blah blah. Now at least that's still relatable in 2023.

Great movie, but I would have liked to see a little bit more like him actually going to the attic room. I did enjoy this movie. These older movies are so much better than the new movies today in my opinion.
It’s uncanny how well Don’s elderly makeup stood the test of time! That’s a bullseye 🎯

I like how his Excellency (likely the devil) is shown as a kinda "decent representative", as though all the "clashes between god and the devil, heaven and hell" etc were actually more like mere "civilized disagreements" or "business disagreements" and religious nutcases just blow it out of all proportion. It'd be nice, if there is an afterlife, that it may actually have been like this. Truth be told I guess the film had to be this ubpeat as WW2 was raging while this was being made.
How lovely. I have always loved these old films that I used to watch on tv with my grand-parents. Nowadays most films are unwatchable.

I absolutely love this movie! I have no idea how long it's been since I first watched it and it's irrelevant because I can watch it anytime and never get tired of it. It's so a well written, well directed, perfectly cast and absolutely charming. Don Ameche is at his best and even Gene Tierney who I never much cared for is adorable in this picture.

I love Gene Tierney, but I saw “The Ghost and Mrs. Muir” and “Laura” before I watched “Leave Her To Heaven”. She’s convincingly evil in the last one. She’s lovely in this movie. The unbelievable part is how those two parents could produce such a physically beautiful woman, with the grace and manners that they lacked.
"Lots of beetles" - Brilliant.
One of my favorite movies, but only because the writing was as exquisite as Gene Tierney's beauty. But the way these 1940s all-male producers blatantly & shamelessly glorified a cheating husband - ugh!
I have never seen this movie before. Its a good one.
The opening is hilarious, w/ the lady going down the chute, and then the gift of the beetles.. too funny.
Great film, I almost cried at the end of movie, it's sad to see the passing life of a person, but hey that's inevitable, we can't do nothing about death!
How funny to hear 60 discussed as 80.
Wow, so so awesome film, I'm watching it in 2024, well after 80 years it was made(have watched it 3-4 times in this week). Great acting by Don Ameche(he's so handsome, with soothing voice) and Charles Coburn (i liked his performance in made for each other 1939, I love his jokes in this film). Fun fact, I was born just after 60 years this movies was shoot. I love these old films. Most modern movies have become trash due to too much inclusion of all races, gender equality, etc.
Ma Kettle is in this movie. 😂 She was born 134 years ago.
What a beautiful movie! This is the first time I have cried before chopping onions. Thanks for sharing. ❤
So that’s what was missing from my 3 marriages…beetles! Who knew? Lol
Ma Kettle cleans up nice! [Marjorie Main]
A beautiful movie, full of humor Being 73 made it very poignant. I love the set design for Hades
This kind of movie is dream. I really don't understand why old movies isn't filming one more time. So lovely. So exciting. Maybe just small changes. Because cheeting is bad.

Don’t you enjoy this guy who at 60 is scared of his son? And he’s asking for money like a kid! Cycles of life
It was a comedy with heart. I liked it.Made me laugh out loud at times.
Charming, only you have to watch it with a 100 years old pair of glasses. Other time, different values. I enjoyed the time travel.
Where does all the money come from? No one works. The grandfather must have been a multi millionaire. His mother and grandfather are passed over obviously. It is obvious he inherited his grandfathers house,
Lovely film:). Don Ameche as Henry...a very handsome man :). I saw films with Ameche as an older man--Trading Places, Cocoon. Very good actor. I am a sucker for love stories. "She will plead for you..."
7:26 this little dialogue and exchange is my absolute favorite of the entire movie, that little girl played the part perfectly!!😅
Oooh that grandpa, I'll wait at heavens door and knock you down if I see you coming!😂😂
Another fine example of this movie genre. Thank you.
