    Hey steve. New PRV installed on oil burner. But still drips I noticed the gauge hits a lil past 180 degrees aquastat is set to 180. In tap the expansion tank and put pressure pen on it it reads around the recommended psi got expansion tank. And I don't see no water drip put the tank when I use pressure gauge pen. And the airator hisses to release pressure. But yet the PRV drips out water and its brand new. What ya think it's the aquastat ?? Needs be cleaned or replaced ??

    Steven do you repair boilers and AC systems or straight boilers. You are a great teacher. I'm 39 years into luxury coach repair and we have boilers on board,I'm stuck with AC and boilers, sick of Florida and would rather work on boilers in winter offin summer.

    What do you set the Hi/Low/Diff to? I have a similar setup but know almost 0 about heating. (New home owner and im trying to learn). Been having an issue where the system is triggering the reset switch. My High was set to 140 and my Low set to 120, diff set to 15. I should also mention I had the hot water system changed over to an electric hot water tank so my furnace only supplies base board heating now. Today I turned My high up to 170 and Low t0 140, diff to about 12 ish. Trying to get the system to stop triggering the reset switch. Have no idea if the two things are related but I read somewhere that I could be, so I figured I'd give it a shot till I get the money to call a pro.

    Nice job! I have learned tons from your videos. I have one I can't nail down same aquastat L8124A,C burning up the back of the card between S2 and looks like the relay coil. Ran great for 2 days and blew again. Never tripped the reset, which is also new, is the burner motor going bad? I don't want to guess with another 320$ aquastat. Anyhelp will be greatly appericated

    i just watched a video were they mention zr zc for high limit and low limit how come you did not wire them

  • @justloggit22
    @justloggit227 жыл бұрын

    I like multi strand wire, far more flexible. I'm pretty sure that an electrician told me it carries more or cleaner power than solid core. Apperantly that's why it's used on electronics like stereos, speakers

  • @dwight.bennett
    @dwight.bennett10 жыл бұрын

    This is the first video that I think you show cleaning a nozzle rather than replacing it. What is the distinction that made this one worthy of cleaning, versus most that get replaced? We think the same, stranded wire is a pain to work with on terminations, but easy to pull in conduits.

    i did replace the nozzle .but i did spray carb cleaner to get the carbon off .i do not like to leave old nozzles because they get heated up and can be a problem if left if the nozzle is a big 1.50 or bigger i might leave it but a smaller nozzle i always change .. just my oppion on the matter you leave a old small nozzle if you want to i will not .just looking for problems i would say

    True, $5-10 for a nozzle is small money compared to a call back or a no-heat call later in the year. Carb cleaner is some strong magic!

    Steven when you have a home with pex for the hl and ll would there be a max HL setting? Some say with pex you will start to have leaks over 200 deg? I have a oil fired single circ pump with 2 zone valves and a tankless HW heater. Do the settings need to be changed during the dead of winter say oat 10 degrees? hotter the HL the more effiecient right ? Also prv tank and make up valve all just replaced. My settings now are HL 195 LL 175 and diff 25. Thanks for your help.

    steve the boiler is high at 180 for high and low 140 ..it rans all the time with a break of 10 minutes is that normal...the boiler is only use for winter and it is only for heat the radiators only.. I do have a separate water heater for water all the time but it is separate from the boiler.. is those high and low temperatures right for the boiler on winter time for heating the house?

    +1. Utilitychemicals.com check out a product called dgt, spray on wipe off and nozz assembly looks new again. That was a toasted triple, I've seen the b1 terminal toasted and burner won't fire but that was just crazy! Costly too I bet, company I work for charges a pretty penny for Honeywell triples. Can't beat oil in the summer!
