    Video realistically starts @4:15, ...if you're in a hurry. Plus, he's easily understandable at 2x playback speed, IMO. Just for those of us who don't have the attention span or ain't got time for that, especially after sitting through 2min of unskippable ads (not cool). Great video though, both instructional and personality-wise. Thanks! I took a look at other videos by A Dude A Dad and it looks like there's some great stuff.

    Thanks a lot for checking us out.🤙🏽unfortunately our channel isn’t monetized so we have no control over the ads. 2min seems WAY excessive for this video. I really appreciate your review and the cliff notes for future viewers. I assure you if this channel gets monetized by KZread we will NOT be cramming ads like that.

    Ive always just stuck a blow-dryer in them for a few min to heat them up. Then put them on.

    I never had heat mold liners and I just got a pair of 32 double boas. I wore them out on the mountain once to get a feel for them, and then today I did the same, I got a blow dryer, a towel, warmed them up on low, wrapped the towel around the inner lower side to create a semi vacuum, let it run for a minute or two and set my set in right away and tightened it up, walked around, repeated a second time. Feel like I’m gonna do one more time the day of or before my trip next weekend

    Awesome video Brother! just hit that like and subscribed! Quick question, what if you have moldable insoles as well? do you think you can leave the insoles in with the boot liner when you heat treat them?

  • @adudeadad

    @adudeadad

    6 ай бұрын

    Right on, thank you so much for that sub and like! I bet you could leave the insoles in and they'd get heat soaked just like the liner. They appear to be made of the same materials. But, now you got me thinking of going and getting some really good insoles to form and put in all our boots anyway! Thanks for the idea

    How do you know if you need the ankle donuts or not?

  • @adudeadad

    @adudeadad

    7 ай бұрын

    The number one indicator of needing to use donuts is: if your heel is lifting inside your boot when transitioning to toe side turns. The mom is not running them in the boots used in this video because the molding process provided adequate ankle lockage. Hope this helps. Thanks for checking us out!🤙🏽

    How many degrees should be the rice? I don't know if it was hot enough, I think it was 80 degrees, I don't know If I should repeat all, I did exactly like this video, the rice was hot it evaporated but I could hold it in my hand (So I think it was less of 100 degrees)

  • @adudeadad

    @adudeadad

    When we do them they aren’t too hot to touch but they are too hot to hold. I’m unsure of what you “evaporated”. Feel free to try the process again. If the sock full of “raw” rice was only 80f the first time, you didn’t get a good heat soak. Hope this helps. Good luck🤙🏽

    What would possibly happen if you do it at home or in a store without having the footbed removed? @adudeadad

  • @adudeadad

    @adudeadad

    5 ай бұрын

    I believe if you let the footbed get heat soaked, and then stood on it hot, it would compress permanently and you would lose the “suspension” and the comfort of it. Only a theory, I am not a professional just a seasoned veteran. 🤙🏽 thanks for the question dude!

    Can’t you just stick the liner in the over like you do with hockey skates

  • @adudeadad

    @adudeadad

    You prob could. Growing up in AZ and NV hockey skate forming is definitely not a skill we all have. lol. Truth be told, I looked up how to mold snowboard boots on KZread 10 years ago or so and found this way, and tried it, liked it, and continued to do it. I bet the oven works awesome too.
