On "A Beautiful Life," the first Heartless Bastards album since 2015’s Restless Ones, frontwoman Erika Wennerstrom takes listeners on a journey of self-discovery. The album opener and first single, “Revolution,” serves as a clarion call to unshackle yourself from capitalism’s golden handcuffs and to look inward for true happiness. This all might sound cliche if it weren’t so beautifully done. Wennerstrom’s unmistakable voice is a siren call of salvation riding waves of delicately layered psych rock. It’s a winning combo that carries the album from start to finish and urges fans to look, listen, and feel more.
The band is currently on tour in support of A Beautiful Life and stopped by Studio 1A during a recent two night stand at Antone’s. Backed by some of Austin’s best musicians, Erika performed a few songs from the new album for some lucky audience members. They kicked off with the title track “A Beautiful Life,” a perfect example of the laid back, thoughtfully crafted rock ‘n’ roll that defines the new music. Shimmering guitar swelling into revelatory vocal crescendos reminding us “It’s a beautiful life, It’s a beautiful life if you let it be.”

I just learned about this band yesterday. And I spent three hours putting together a bookcase listening to You're band. Then I did five hours of landscaping nothing but your music. I feel so positive listening to your music. Thank you so much.

A cool ZEN bean story, lifes besutiful simple things in melody, reality and balance in PEACE.
Brilliant band another band i paid to see never turned at leeds done it again this year 3 bands and hotels paid for ain't turned up anxiety through the roof.

Great to find a great music by a band that follows the one-hat-per-band rule.
Saw them at the beginning of the year in Hackney, London. The poor guitarist could barely stand and spent the whole gig sat on his amplifier. (Know the feeling, my knees are gone). They still rocked... Can't wait to see them again..

I very much agree! Life is BEAUTIFUL! Dearest Erika, I will give you my digits someday when we cross paths again. Some day. You may delete this when you see it. I really appreciate you making the effort to coming back to Arizona. I can’t afford that show! I don’t have much money. I’m very tight on funds. The tickets cost freaking $190 for two people. That’s steep! I love the line up very much but I’m not Mr. Scrooge duck. Swimming in money. I’m on food stamps. The only income I get is Social Security. Can’t do that. I’m on the recovery train and focusing on my body. So take your time, I’m just relearning to walk. Nothing exciting.

I just went for injections, in my broken pelvis. I hear ya! Lifting your bones up in prayer. Acupuncture & PT work.. so, don't give up. I just started care taking & am struggling to survive, myself.. but don't lose hope. Angels exist.. just look @ that one singing right now. They are such a great band.. wish I could see them live too. 🍻 ❤️🌊🤙 Prosit!! Keep your head up!

Coldplay wish they were Radiohead.. Coldplay went to crap! Doves were much better.. But Erika is such an amazing singer & these guys all play off each other in such a magical way. Such talent!! 🤯
Judge still out. Maybe better in spring But not bad. Bur doesn't move me. Gotta alot work. Just being honest. This doesn't reflect the working man.
