I played an opponent yesterday who played renounce darkness into priest. The turn before I was about to kill him, he played Prophet Velen, Auchenai Soulpriest and 3 Flash Heals to OTK me from 30 health. I hope that makes it into a highlight reel somewhere.k

My Renounce Darkness and Yogg deck is aptly named Renounce Your Sanity, and I have 26 warlock spells 2 warlock minions, Yogg, and C'thun (for when I land on a class with C'thun activators) It has a pretty good success rate for the games it actually uses Renounce Darkness, and its relatively consistent on finding the damn thing. However since I built the entire deck around those two major swing cards, if I get neither I lose without a doubt.

That first game was brutal. You did the perfect play-around and then... ice block :( Also, Renounce Darkness is AWESOME in this week's Tavern Brawl! Guaranteed turn 2 play :D

Renounce Yogg was the first Old Gods deck I ever made. I put in every board clear and controlled the board until I had a big hand I could Renounce (unless I needed to table-flip the game with Yogg). It was fun, but terrible, hahaha.

Question: When you play renounce darkness, does it replace all your class cards (ie spells and minions) + neutral minions or does it replace just the class cards? There's been many times the card is played and I never see them play a normal neutral minion again

only class cards, but in a renounce deck you want as many class cards as possible which is why.

Hah, I was messing around with Renounce myself earlier. I did slightly better, but that's only because I haven't started climbing the ladder this season, and as such I'm playing against decks with Lord of the Arena and Stonetusk Boar. And still losing. Renounce Darkness - great fun, but not useful in the slightest.

well in that first game almost any of the mage secrets would have stopped lethal there. only effigy and mirror wouldn't.

I just checked to see if I happen to have any copies of Renounce Darkness in my collection and I do not. I doubt it's worth it to actually craft. I think I'd need two copies if I really wanted to try it, since the deck relies on getting one early. If I do, I'd also probably need to finally craft Yogg. That's 2400 dust so far, which is half of my reserves.
