You should maybe try giving Rarran some followers and spells again instead of just doing the champions every new expansion, don't you think so too, Snnuy? For this expansion in particular where every champion has been underwhelming but their packages have been insane, I feel that it would have been a better choice, personally. That said, as a wise Ionian lady once said, sometimes you're the fish, sometimes you're the bait. Happy late birthday btw!

Rarran was spot on for Norra. She’s found her place in an incredibly strong deck now

This video was probably recorded a couple weeks ago or so. Jax is struggling to remain relevant and Norra has found a couple decks where she gets to shine, making her the best champion of the expansion so far.

@@N12015 not exactly there's also two and a half more archetype that are played rn just to get a shot agains't this deck Duskfalls and Gwen Kata Elise are performing well agains't this deck just because it doesn't really have tools to play agains't a full board of fearsome units and just like pirates the deck can get pressured heavily in its early turns. And for the second archetype it's one that is quite new but that is getting very good results because it plays so many good spells while generating a ton of value passively, Heimer Norra, I encounter it a lot in master and the decks has been found like 3 or 4 days ago and spreads really fast (to a point I may drop Kennen Ezreal for some times on the ladder)

Next Runeterra Special: Rarran plays 100 games trying to prove Snnuy wrong about Nora.

Rarran as a struggling uni student, your content kicks ass and always lifts my mood

I don't play Hearthstone but I do play LoR religiously and yet I discovered Snnuy through Rarran. Sometimes KZread algorithm does something good.

I love Norra! I think she's great. There's been this Norra Heimerdinger deck going around that's honestly super good. It's been tearing up high elo.

it’s funny how so many cards in this expansion are really good and made new and unique decks… except for the actual champs

Superior disappinted that you guys didn't compliment Ornns godly leveled up art, the guy is an icon

Another aspect of why Ornn is underwhelming is that Freljord has no good cheap equipment to start forging with. It limits what he can use as a second region since he wants early equipment to buff as well as protection.

Nah it just he it to slow to work since you can easy get equipment form the weaponmaster + regional weapon. The noxus one, Shurima are quite good + Darkin weapon. I think his problem that he is to slow for what he do. 6 mana the ornn will playable for sure.

Yep, you're pretty much forced to play him with Jax because the improvise units give you cheap equipments to forge very early. But even then, Ornn just comes in too late and he only poses as a threat if he is leveled up. The good thing about him is that he doesn't have to see your unit strike for 10+ damage which makes it a lot easier to lvl him up.

Really love seeing you talk through games I can barely comprehend in reasonable Hearthstone words

Honestly it feels like some of these champions are designed to work more in the Path of Champions mode than the actual PvP side of things. Jax is extremely fun in PoC, while not all that useful in PvP. On the other hand, poor Ornn is just not great in either mode, and probably needs some sort of buff.

Jax currently has my vote for "most harmed by being a Runeterran champ rather than being in a real region." For instance, Jax Vi Timelines is the most successful Jax deck but it seems like those players are better off just playing a normal Timelines deck and putting their in-region Improvise cards in it. Ionian Hookmaster and to a lesser extent Fireth are popping up in their respective regions too. The big problem is that he's a 2-drop that's appropriately costed as a two-drop so it's not clear what you're getting for what you're giving up, especially considering that Improvise has diminishing returns anyway (in that if you improvise too many weapons you won't be able to cast and equip them all)

Ornn can be great fun with the right relics and powers.

Without even seeing what Jax does, he is broken because he actually has a real weapon

I think for all These Champs Context cards where Missing. Maybe add 1 Card to each Champ that synergizes with him the Most. F.e. for norra the spell that ads Portals/shrooms etc for each Allie.

Most of the cards dont do cool stuff like in hearthstone tho. They are just stats+ an effect like bounce or splash, and the unique ones are good because of the synergies which are fairly obvious. Like its been awhile since ive played but, are there any BAD creative cards? Like ignoring the stats if they do something it has its place. Maybe tree sapling but zamn

If I'm correct, PvZ heroes made a similar keyword to Formidable before LoR implement that keyword to that game

Omg Ornn is so good and broken. All his units can buff an item so fast and level ornn up. He doesnt even have to be in the game. So many times round 8 I have summoned an ornn with 15 or 16 damage and equally crazy health + the ram with overwhelm. In addition to other buffs from freljord he can be unstopable.

Yep, when it was released it was more of a meme card because it didn't have a deck it functioned well in. Now because of improvise units it's really fucking strong.

Also small thing, he does gain a copy of the strongest equipment in hand, it’s not just that he equips it himself, not sure if that was fully understood or not

This videos are so entertaining, if LoR videos were more recommended this would have more views lol

For runaterran champs it might be good to show off one or two cards that are part of that package, otherwise it’s hard to visualize what they even do.

@@Rarran Yeah, the Shellfolk and spider deck improved her A LOT. She was before played on an awful lulu deck where she didn't fit.

Kayn is insane in the Path of Champions (Adventure mode they currently are supporting). Ranking him up once (to one star) gives ALL units "kill an enemy: gain +1/+1 and heal 2" It works with skills too. Plus cultist package and you can auto draw him with cultist mechanic, insane package for solo dolo vs AI who mess up by not prioritizing his removal ASAP

So Rarran says that they haven’t released seraphine in this video… and how she was just meta breaking

I know i'm 10 months late to this party, but Jax's origin is actually pretty amazing on it's own to just have jax in your deck to have access to those weapon masters, and those weapon masters are all dual region cards, which kinda makes him synergize with Tristanna and the Bandle Tree arch type. (tree optional). A very strong by very niche champion that never sees play, and honestly maybe out rotation by now, I haven't really kept track of rotation, and I don't like it.

I'm very glad they stuck with Jax' theme of using stupid shit to slap people, when they turned his old lantern into this old artefact I was kinda bummed out but it's good to see the old tavern-brawler spirit is still there.

i mean it's very much still just a lantern, it's just lit magically. it's, like, an old artifact in the _non-fantasy_ sense - sure, it _is_ an ancient, magical artifact, but ... it's a lantern. it's the same kind of ancient magical artifact as, like, a sundial that doesn't require the sun's light to tell the time, something only a step above the pots and carvings that make up artifacts in real life it just so happens that the fire that icathia lit its streets with is effective at burning voidborn, so it's slightly less silly that this super old dude is whacking them with a lightpost that's probably even older than he is

@@GumshoeClassic to be fair, if you fight with a magical lamppost because its fire is good for burning a particular kind of monster, you are still basically fighting with a shabby ol' lamppost against everyone else hell, if that icathian fire _is_ just a really effective magical enchantment against basically everything, dude's gonna need some random garbage to spar with so he doesn't end up incinerating the peeps he trains for his anti-void fighting force. or just anyone he gets into a brawl with. lotta contexts where he prob still doesn't have a real weapon in any sense of the word, we just haven't seen much of that as of late

I think yi is pretty under-rated honestly. I reccomend playing him in freljord with lee sin. You get consistent value for all of his effects.

Btw, do you know about the Eternal Card Game? It's a bit similar to MTG and I thought since you like trying new card games, you might enjoy trying this one sometime. It's also really free-2-paly friendly. You could maybe also do your "guess how good the cards are" videos with one of the streamers who play that game. 0:30 Equipments like that also exist in the Eternal CCG, but equipments don't return to hand after the unit died.

Jax, Yi and Ornn suffer from the same problems that also exist in most card games, over investing in single cards/units is a bad idea because you would lose a lot if they removed them.

Would be even worse because LoR tend to attract lore nerds, and those in general despise her due to being a nothing character, a design who contradicts the aesthetic of Piltover and Zaun, the whole hypocrisy of her release story and that's not even mentioning her scummy marketing who ruined her base design or the "Sona 2.0" she was designed as.
