This is the classiest, kindest comment I have ever heard a combat athllete say to another. I am a big Fan Natalia.

4:56 shoutout to Natalia - she showed unbelievable class in that moment! I was ready for her to take smack to smack to further sell or hype this fight - and I’d have had no problem with that. But instead of that, she realized her opponent is still a child decided to be human! *One championship truly is number #1!!!*

Not _that_ belt. She just can't make that weight anymore. She was _very_ lean in that weigh-in, still missed it, and she'll probably fill out some over over the next year or 2. She actually went through a growth spurt in the last 2 years -- she's taller than when she won the belt at 17.

She's a growing girl that's all. She's naturally filling out and growing up and with that comes different challenges. She's tall enough and long enough that she could wind up competing at a higher weight.

One championship is made for the very small people of south east Asia and they won’t accept there are taller and more developed people in other parts of the world. Create higher weight classes!

​​@@asianconnection7701- No, she's like 5'10" - 5'11" now (~180 cm). She has actually grown taller since she won the belt at 17. And she was very lean at that weigh-in. She's just too big for the weight class.

shes been fighting at strawweight (125lbs) since signing contract at age 17 with height 170cm. now at 19 shes become taller at 178cm. its hell to cut weight to 125lb at 178cm. hopefully there is a new division which is flyweight (135lb) soon

problem is one fc doesn't have a heavier womens muay thai weight class for her to jump to as she's growing up. she's trying to kill herself to fit into something she can't fit into because she has to. gotta be rough on the girl, hope it works out for her.

She needs to move to an organisation that has a higher weight class, she will eventually start losing anyway if she carries on , she is too young to cut weight while her body is growing. She will just keep damaging her body. I'm sure there are Thai organisations that pay well , seems a bit crazy one championship hasn't created a higher weight class

I saw this coming. It was pretty obvious she was still growing in the last few years. I think some good challenges are comling for her. Smilla, at 5’10” now, would be sacrificing strength and endurance, if she tries to remain a strawweight. She’s dedicated, and if she could not make weight last week, then she should look forward to a flyweight career. She won’t lose her fanbase.

She ended this fight with one of the best body shots i have ever seen..it was perfect.

Reading between the lines, it sounds like 135 will be created by One pretty soon, if Smilla wins. If she doesn't, probably happens eventually, but not as soon.

This last fight at the end of the first round i thought she had lost it, she came on so strong at end of second round. Her performance in slow mo in the last 30 seconds was impressive.

I feel sorry for her , especially when the likes of Jon Jones cheated for years. She speaks English in a Thai accent rather than a Swedish English accent. She is good enough to be champ at a higher weight , this probably did her a favour , you will eventually drain yourself and do harm if you keep cutting weight when your body is naturally growing, especially at this age , reality her trainers should be training her for the next weight class to keep her healthy , she will probably feel stronger at the weight

100% I agree, she's 18 or 19 and I was still coming into my build until 24 or 23 (male) I know females stop sooner on average but she will keep growing into her build until about 21 or so? She has a few years for sure. Though, with a good nutritionist, she can be 125 her whole life tho. Lol

I'm sorry but she's basically a weight bully. Fight at a higher weight class as you should. Too tall and still growing into an adult woman. She's got the tools to be great and win a title a weight class up or two or even three. Diachkova was very sweet with her words at the end and sorry you were stripped Smilla.

As others have stated, there isn't a higher women's weight class in One for her to compete in. She may be a weight bully, but she's forced into it by the organization.

@@SF-de7rvto add to that you said the One Championship doesn’t allow hard weight cutting (by testing hydration of the fighters). So, she has to lost muscles (not water) to fight at this weight class, and thus cannot gained significant weights the day of the fight.

Time for Natalia to shine. Always root for the underdogs. The ones with the belts always think they cannot be beaten and are immortal. Let Fairtex wonder what they did wrong.
