Can't go wrong with Ann and Nancy Wilson and an orchestra.

The Wilson sisters have survived a tumultuous history. From public breakups with the boys in the band. The fickleness of rock culture, personal publc shaming of Ann about her weight, to being outright overlooked for their indelible contributions to rock history and being dismissed for all of the above. But they soldier on. Their talent and Heart never in dispute and always on display, they continue to pump and drive forward from the bruised emotions to deliver the red and purple convictions as the beat goes on. Listen to them spell out their outrage to an ungrateful lover in the song, ' Even It Up '. Then read the lyrics.

NOW...! I can understand the weight gain "thing.' I was always slender like the 2 girls. But when POST menopause comes a knockin' the weight goes ON! And my appetite is almost next to nothing. I have to make myself eat. Very hurtful to go thru. So I can understand. At least in my case. It can vary.....

The Wilson sisters got a standing ovation from Robert Plant, Jimmy Page & John Paul Jones (with some tears from Plant) when they teamed up with Jason Bonham on drums & honored Led Zeppelin at the Kennedy Center with a chilling rendition of Stairway to Heaven. Enough said!

When she was young, back in the 70s, she had the most powerful voice in rock'n'roll. She could sing this song so piercingly clearly and in full voice at the top of the scale, it would almost hurt your ears. Nobody could touch her in terms of power.

Just like Johnny Cash "Hurt", which he recorded at 70 I think, Ann's 65 year old voice just has that much more emotional depth. For this long a rock career, 50 years...her ability to still belt in distortion are amazing. She could embrace the older voice like Marianne Faithfull did. Whose music is amazing how. Try "Gypsie Faerie Queen"
