(English) Heart Sutra
Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva
when practicing deeply the Prajna Paramita
perceives that all five skandhas are empty
and is saved from all suffering and distress.
Shariputra,
form does not differ from emptiness,
emptiness does not differ from form.
That which is form is emptiness,
that which is emptiness form.
The same is true of feelings,
perceptions, impulses, consciousness.
Shariputra,
all dharmas are marked with emptiness;
they do not appear or disappear,
are not tainted or pure,
do not increase or decrease.
Therefore, in emptiness no form, no feelings,
perceptions, impulses, consciousness.
No eyes, no ears, no nose, no tongue, no body, no mind; no color, no sound, no smell, no taste, no touch,
no object of mind;
no realm of eyes
and so forth until no realm of mind consciousness.
No ignorance and also no extinction of it,
and so forth until no old age and death
and also no extinction of them.
No suffering, no origination,
no stopping, no path, no cognition,
also no attainment with nothing to attain.
The Bodhisattva depends on Prajna Paramita
and the mind is no hindrance;
without any hindrance no fears exist.
Far apart from every perverted view one dwells in Nirvana. In the three worlds
all Buddhas depend on Prajna Paramita
and attain Anuttara Samyak Sambodhi.
Therefore know that Prajna Paramita
is the great transcendent mantra,
is the great bright mantra,
is the utmost mantra,
is the supreme mantra
which is able to relieve all suffering
and is true, not false.
So proclaim the Prajna Paramita mantra,
proclaim the mantra which says:
gate gate paragate parasamgate bodhi svaha
gate gate paragate parasamgate bodhi svaha
gate gate paragate parasamgate bodhi svaha.

ma ka han nya ha ra mi ta shin gyo
摩訶般若波羅蜜多心経
kan ji zai bo sa gyo jin han nya ha ra mi ta ji
観自在菩薩 行深般若波羅蜜多時
sho ken go on kai ku do is-sai ku yaku
照見五蘊皆空 度一切苦厄
sha ri shi shiki fu i ku ku fu i shiki
舍利子 色不異空 空不異色
shiki soku ze ku ku soku ze shiki
色即是空 空即是色
ju so gyo shiki yaku bu nyo ze sha ri shi
受想行識亦復如是 舍利子
ze sho ho ku so fu sho fu metsu
是諸法空相 不生不滅
fu ku fu jo fu zo fu gen ze ko ku chu mu shiki
不垢不浄 不増不減 是故空中 無色

無受想行識 無眼耳鼻舌身意

無色声香味触法 無眼界

乃至無意識界 無無明

I’m 62, male and White. Born and raised a Southern Baptist. As a young father I raised my 6 children in a Pentecostal church. After a crisis of faith I turned to Buddhism. This Sutra (in English) was the first I learned. From a book published in 1937. In a prison library…. Now, 27 years later, I consider myself a Struggling Buddhist. Life is hard. This helps. I listen to this on average 5 times a day, all the way thru. We are like the iron ore a sword smith uses to forge a fine blade. Life(s) are the hammer blows. We are heated, beaten then folded again and again and again till the impurities are gone… What remains is….? “Heat, beat, fold, repeat.” This is my personal Mantra. Till after countless lives I am pure enough to stand in the presence of God. What ever he/she/it may be…

when you are pure enough you should realize god has always been in you all along, if god has always been with you what need is that to stand in the presence of god.

The meaning of this Sutra is this: 1. One should become a Bodhisattva (a Buddha-to-be) i.e. someone content with nothing less than all-knowledge attained through the perfection of wisdom for the sake or all beings. 2. There is no such thing as a Bodhisattva, or all-knowledge, or a “being”, or the perfection of wisdom, or an attainment. The solution to this dilemma lies in nothing else than the fearless acceptance of both contradictory facts.

I am Japanese and used to pray this with my grandma everyday when my grandpa in spirit world. this sutra is so mach to me, and I still remember. I just started practice this mantra recently myself, so i will practice this with your music! and make me think practice other mantra you pray! thank you such a wonderful video
