The Wilson sisters have always been ahead of their time and their songs are living music. I never listened to Bad Animals until 2021 and every song speaks deeply to me as if this album was released in 2022. Their music is still fresh and captures the imagination of the listener 35 years after the fact... that's talent... pure talent. I also love the fact the Wilson sisters were from Seattle way before being from Seattle was a thing.

I met them both up close and personal at age 12 in Memphis in late summer 1978 and they were so kind and fantastic. It was at the Hyatt Regency the day before I met the Stones, ate lunch with them by invite of first Mick, then Keith (don't get me started) and Ann and her boyfriend (Magic Man I presume) told me Nancy had just went down to swim. Well, after an autograph, quick picture and a good tip on an ace BBQ joint at that time me and my buddy Les Taylor who walked there and camped out all weekend (first at the pool, then in the woods after some 'rumblings' with the staff...) practically took off running down there below deck. I went swimming with her and chatted her up on gear on Ovations and my 2 year old '76 Les Paul (that I still have) and my 5 years of playing, for at least an hour. Her boyfriend, magic man's little brother and the lead guitar player, eventually tried to run me off and she snapped at him. She was so freaking cool and nice, and hot, especially in that 2 piece white bikini and lilly-white skin, as you can imagine -no surprise to me. She was everything you would have thought her to be and so much more! A Beautiful Soul. And no, this not a rejected letter to Penthouse Forums, although... The Stones were great that Sunday Night btw. REO was there Friday night but we missed them somehow, Oh well, I was a big Gary Richrath fan and still am.

Fabulous. No vid and that's what makes this so fabulous. Have no idea what year, but I'm guessing it's less than 2000. Pine Sol: I worked with that stuff. Pretty good vid.

Thanks so much for posting this. I am DYING to hear the radio commercials for the 1987 Heart concert Pittsburgh Pa October 31st 1987 Saturday night. The radio commercial was the most exciting thing I ever heard. It was narrated by a guy speaking like Vincent Price saying "Have we go a treat for you this Halloween" and all the apexes of Heart's best songs were played in this commercial

Totally agree with Nancy on the demos sounding better. Over the years music got to over produced by the music factories. I stopped listening after a while because perfect anything isn't human. Musicians don't normally play exactly the same song the same way every time perfectly. Listened to some garage band music from the late 60s and discovered what was missing that I really liked. The raw human part missing today. 12 string guitars are never perfectly in tune but nothing else sounds like them. Sisters breathing on the mic's would be cut in production today but I would rather keep it.

Since the questions were cut out, it would have been nice if short titles were added throughout, such as "early bands", "current band lineup", etc., to quickly orient the listener.

This interview is the definitive and conclusive proof that Ann and Nancy started out in 1987 enthusiastic about the bad Animals album and the upcoming tour yet by December of 1987 Howard leese told a Miami reporter that Ann was depressed and thinking about retiring ....this is the proof that the media refused to acknowledge how stupendous heart was and how gifted and exceptional Ann Wilson was while it promoted fourth rate artists like Madonna and Whitney Houston and Cyndi Lauper Non-Stop and glorified them not stop but would not give any recognition to Heart and simply focused on Ann being overweight and Ann being depressed and Ann being old and Ann being unmarried and Ann being childless.. it was the media that took Ann down at a time when the fans could not give their feedback to the artist like now thanks to the internet.the only thing the media did not do to Ann back then was call her a lesbian but they sort of implied it with all the other negatively about being unmarried childless and manless.

Oh, in '87 Nancy was thinking about having babies? That was the time to do it, and she would have saved herself all the subsequent trauma of her not being able to get pregnant. 36:24 26:59 Reminds me of Ann admitting in the book, that she smothering Nancy.
