i used to feed them frozen home cooked food just like you, my 2 cats poop at least once every day I thought that was normal. but now I steam food for them twice a day. Result, they poop once every 3 days. vet said they absorb more from the good food thus poop less. can try feed freshly cook food for their better health. love cat 😁

Corn isn't a filler food, basically cats do not need it. Cats digestive system is almost identical to wild cats such as tigers, lions leopards etc. have you ever seen a wild cat hunting for corn no 😅 Then why should you're cat eat it? Cooked food take all the good nutrients, raw food. As seen on this video is great and healthy for your cat! Also good things for cats are pre biotic's and pro biotic's good for the gut because it has good and healthy bacteria that protects it! Such as flax seeds and all hope this helps even more. Also got this info from Dr. Marty!

She wrote near the end that what she made is stored in the fridge for up to a week. Me, I freeze mine in zip-lock bags, but it's gone in a couple of weeks. I would guess, though, that it'll last for several months in a freezer.

I have some questions about homemade cat food. 1 cat only needs a very amount of vegetables is this right? My understanding is most cats in the wild obtain vegetables through their prey hence only small amounts. 2 cooked or raw again my understanding is that the cat gets most of the needs from their prey including hydration. Yes, they will drink water but again most is from their raw diet. 3 why remove bones just if you can whizz them up in a processor adds minerals etc to their diet but yes cooked bones can splinter and cause problems again, raw diet and whizz.

Are there any supplements that you add? I make my own dog food already and there are supplements I buy to make sure the meals are complete and balanced but I can’t seem to find anything like that for cats. I would love to make my own cat food but I’m afraid the meals won’t be “complete and balanced”

Kasey Roneker I add their liquid supplement which is rich in Thaurine and Lysine but I add it to their food only thrice or four times a week as I changed my dry food, I use Orijen brand now which is 85% protein, most of the vitamins they need are in the food anyway, so I keep it to minimum use. You can also add supplements which are rich in Omega 3 and 6 if they try to shed a lot. Most supplements for dogs are okay for cats (just like what I am using now), just the dosage is different, you might want to check the labels of your dog's supplement and check if it's okay for cats. :)

😩😭Tried this recipe for my 3 cats-British Long hair breed, unfortunately they didn't like to eat it at all. They just sniff it and walk away. I left it for few hours to see if they would eat it later but they didn't even touch it. But Not a waste though coz I just gave it to the stray cats outside our house.

Introduce it to them gradually. Mix a bit of the new food to their old food and increment the amounts per day until they get used to the new food. Cats need slow introduction.

@@lindaherrera1965 i did actually. I tried also mixing it with their favorite wet food, I placed a small portion from that recipe unfortunately they end up not eating their favorite old food too. They probably didn't like the taste or smell of it. I honestly don't know. I end up giving it to the stray cats outside our house. Sadly, I even bought a brand new food processor just for this recipe for my beloved cats. 😅

I cooked a turkey for my cats for Thanksgiving and salmon for christmas. I've tried chicken and turkey liver but neither would eat it any way I prepared it. My one cat will only lick the butter off and lick up the drippings. I've tried vegetables and they only sniff it and then give me a dirty look before they walk away. My cat does eat all the white meat off of turkey or chicken, which is great because I hate it and always threw it away before I got him.

Hi theres a vet who you can find online who does this video about what a designated carnivore like a cat needs to be healthy and the bought cat foods are not it. Theyre full of fillers that cats shouldnt be eating. Cats need a diet of mostly organ meat like offal...chicken hearts, livers, gizzards etc as well as some fish for variety. Cats eat small birds and mammals and they eat the whole animal including what the animals have in their digestive tracts so a little ground flax seeds, pumpkin seeds and other omega 3 rich seeds act as antioxidants and probiotics feeding your cats gut microbiome for the best possible health. Its best raw but if your cat wont eat raw then light cooking like in this video will be ok. Its ok for a bit of vegetable matter like in this video, peas, squash etc lightly cooked and well chopped into the meat...they like a bit of jaws and teeth action so dont over process the meat...they need to maintain healthy teeth and jaws. Its the inclusion of wheat and corn in bought catfood that causes bad teeth, bad breath, bad digestion and bad health in general. I feed some tuna and some chicken organs since losing my older cat to stomach cancer aged only 10...cats dont need the problems people foist on them and the sad thing is you generally think you are buying a good, cat specific diet when nothing could be further from the truth. You wouldnt believe what a good response I got from my usually picky cat when I first ground up some flax and pumpkin seeds into her tuna!

Hard veggies you need to cook until they are soft cuz its for cats its hard to swallow and need to be easily digestible.

My butcher recommended lambs liver as they get that regularly. Same issue for me, difficult to get chicken liver if it's not Christmas.

Yes you can mix liver with the fish it's totally fine! You can add supplements also but if the recipe is vitamin-packed, for example, you will give supplement which is rich in omega-3, but you will feed fish, which is also rich in omega-3, that will be redundant, so instead alternate the supplements depending on your what meat you feed your cats. Hope this helps :)

It always depends on what ingredients you're using. Like as long as you use ingredients that are rich in whatever nutritional value, you don't need supplements because they're already in the ingredients.

I really loved your recipes and will be following them but I would suggest you to add some small amont of water in their food when you serve it to them. Cats have very sensitive liver and kidneys and not drinking enough watch can cause death at a very young age. Please give them water mixed with food as well.

I think what you meant is they get UTI and kidney failure when they are dehydrated, I use water fountain and drink alot of water, when you boil meat and veggies, it naturally absorbs water and this will give enough moisture, however if your cats are not "drinkers" then you can add water into mix, even in kibbles you need to add water if your cats don't drink water that much.
