But I cannot imagine how you have managed to fight through the loss of memory and motor functions. I don’t think you’re gonna have to start from 0 when it comes to your KZread career. The current state of American healthcare presents a significant challenge. It appears that the focus for many medical professionals has shifted towards sales rather than patient care. This trend is concerning, particularly when it comes to the thoroughness of diagnosis and treatment. The situation is further exacerbated when financial compensation is not immediate, potentially compromising the quality of healthcare provided.

As i listened to your video, it reminded me of how my patients feel after a concussion, when they describe being behind a brain fog. The eye issues generally are not picked up by family doctors/neurologist/optometrist. I'm glad that you did end up finding the right care, but for anyone who is struggling with similar issues, please look for a neuro optometrist as they have gone through further training and into this niche field.

I know this is a valid point and true all around, HOWEVER, mind you, there are many people who are very demanding and want very specific diagnostics that are unwarranted from a professional standpoint. It's understandable that everyone with a pimble wants to rule out it's cancer with an MRI (hyperbole to make a point), but THAT is only possible if everyone is willing to pay that out of his own pocket and not from the insurance money. Also mind you, there is a reality of overdiagnosing things and that's especially true for the case of the MRI. Radiologists need to make MRIs to pay off the debt of buying the machines, they'll do anything you want: if you pay. When you look with the MRI, a figurate and literal maginifying glass on the body, you'll always find something. Most things are better left untouched. Especially when it comes to the back. There are thousands of uncessary back suergeries and they all start with someone getting an MRI, that shows some disc herniations. Which are completely normal at a certain age and getting surgery in most cases makes nothing better and often worse.

@@maxmeier532 so, you wrote a wall of text and somehow completely missed the point. The doctor dismissed him and he got aggressive and frustrated when his practices didn’t work. It has nothing to do with an MRI. But even if, some doctors told him that’s all in his head. That’s crazy gaslighting.

I want to say, as a doctor, I’m sorry we failed you by not listening to your concerns and dismissing your concerns at a time that must have felt so dark and terrifying. It’s incredibly upsetting and disappointing to hear your story as a physician. But I’m glad you were able to advocate for yourself and find amazing doctors (they exist!) who were able to help. I hope this small contribution helps in some way. And I am SO excited to see what you’re going to bring to this medium again! We have certainly missed you, friend.

Hey Jonathan, So sorry to hear you have been dealing with all this. Very happy to hear you are on the mend. The eye pain due to neck/nerve issues IS A REAL thing and it is sadly not well known so I am really happy you shared this (although I will also share that finding a chiropractor or PT who knows how to manage it is sometimes a challenge in itself). Also Love hearing how scleral lenses are helping! The doctors at Insight are great!!! So thankful you found them and that your vision rehab is coming along. One extra thing that could be looked into for corneal scarring could be topical losartan eye drops. They are still experimental at this point but I know many doctors who have found success with it. It will be a good thing to ask your eye doctors about if they have read much on it or if they have ever treated anyone with it. Either way, god bless and I look forward to your future videos on sclerals!

Idk how many times I’ve been told this in 2023 when I was going through a lot of health problems.
