This was a great talk. Why is Ted flagging this and saying that this is just personal research when she is citing multiple research projects and researchers. It would seem that Ted is engaging in the cognitive dissonance that Dr Jain was referring to in her talk.

It's a group cognitive dissonance. A giant group who is against to a larger extent than sceptical. A doubtful person will still listen. Also - the experience: people who have and haven't experienced the energy field?

Hello my name is Yadaira Martinez. I am a cancer survivor and one of the things that I always did when I was going through Chemotherapy was meditation. What little that I know that meditations and prayers would heal me. Now I know that when I was meditating by touching the part where the cancer was I was actually curing my self. So I believe very much in Bio Healing our self's and by that I have been practicing self healing this year since I discovered it. I have learned and study more everyday so that one day I will be able to help others the way it has been helping me. Thank you so much Shamini Jain for sharing this talk about the truth that not enough people believe in. Today I am a Cancer free survivor.

Dr. Shamini Jain's research is important as she focuses on how biofield medicine can be scientifically documented. I'm quite sorry to learn that TEDx changed Dr. Jain's original title, which was "We're Wired to Heal Each Other: The Science of Interconnection," and also censored which terms she could use in the talk. Dr. Jain is an established scientist whose statements are well-grounded in research. As a Ph.D. myself, I trust her work and advocate that Tedx should, too. Listen for how she calls out monocultural ethnocentrism--we need to be having this conversation.

Thank you Dr. Shamini Jain! As an Occupational Therapist using clinical evidence based Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Tapping- a major biofield science technology for the past 10 years, I am continually humbled by the power of the people I work with to heal themselves. From chronic pain, anxiety (GAD- Generalized Anxiety Disorder to panic attacks) to auto immune disorders and substance use disorders, I have witnessed improvements in health...sometimes right before my eyes in a matter of minutes. Why TED is flagging this talk as "...only represents the speaker's personal research approach to and understanding of healing", is beyond me. High quality research has proved it's efficacy...I know it works...my medical colleagues recognize it, but more importantly...my patients feel better and have improved health as a result. “Every truth passes through three stages before it is recognized. In the first stage it is ridiculed, in the second stage it is opposed, in the third stage it is regarded as self-evident.”-Schopenhauer

It is unfortunate that TED and KZread appear to be influenced by powers that support only the existing medical paradigm. My own personal experience with a major hospital in the Boston area, and the traditional treatment protocol that was unsuccessful, led me to learn about the Biofield and complementary approaches to wellness. Thankfully, a combination of acupuncture, yoga, meditation, reiki and tai chi were all instrumental in restoring my health, which I was told was likely impossible. Our world is so much in need of understanding 'life facts' (how the world, universe, cosmos actually works - free from preconception, bias and tunnel vision). Here, Dr. Jain also shares good science that regardless of the language or labels, humans effect the health of other humans. Learning how to be intentional and proactive with that reality should be on everyone in healthcare's agenda. Even starting with understanding therapeutic relationships would be a huge step.

Fascinating and thought-provoking talk. Thank you for sharing your wisdom, the science, and encouraging us all to think beyond our social conditioning. We can only move forward when we are prepared to open ourselves to new ideas and to evaluate them wisely.

As an RN and nursing graduate student studying the implications for using biofield science to address many of the epidemic health concerns in our society as well as the problem we will have with continued healthcare provider burn out, this talk is an excellent resource. Dr. Jain effectively summarizes the science and has published research to back her claims. I do not believe this talk should be flagged and challenge TED to consider the harm that flag will have on achieving the promising benefits Dr. Jain has mentioned in her talk. Misplaced flags such as this will hinder scientific progress and do represent the cognitive dissonance Dr. Jain has cautioned against. Please consider reviewing this talk and removing the flag.

As always inspiring and uplifting. I love how the science is finally proving the age old systems and techniques. More science for the skeptics will help to to validate what science has already validated.

A very inspiring and informative talk from Dr. Jain. She is a passionate advocate for what we can all do for each other, extend loving kindness and compassion. It is so simple and yet the powers that be are threatened by it. I don't understand why this talk is flagged as she cites numerous research studies. It seems that we are going backwards if we can't talk about energy medicine.

Thank you for sharing this Shamini! Great talk! I teach mindfulness so I appreciate hearing the data. Btw…the root of the word primitive is “primus” which means “first”, something that came first. I believe that the understanding of the body, energetic field and the healing process that comes from the ancestors was simple and profound at the same time. If modern science is being used in service of health and well being, then, we all benefit.

Great presentation, Shamini! Yes, we are wired to heal one another. Compassion facilitates this process. 💓 I listened to your audio book earlier this year. Excellent. I commend you for all your efforts. Much love and gratitude. 🌟

My biggest question, after watching this excellent and evidenced presentation, is who has bought off the integrity of KZread and TED talks? I can't think of any other reason they would have attached the above "NOTE FROM TED. Can you?

What a powerful and valid presentation by Dr. Jain on the innate healing we all possess as humans. I am a Reiki Master practicing Reiki Energy Healing at a medical clinic in the Seattle area, at times receiving referrals from the doctors in office as they recognize Reiki can be the "missing link" in healthcare. Many of the clients I treat have come to me as a last resort, trying an array of other healing modalities including western medicine yet still having health issues. More often than not it is Reiki that creates the concrete curative results sought. I am unsure why Ted has flagged Dr. Jain's talk since energy healing has been used successfully for thousands of years.

Excellent talk. What exciting research! This shouldn't be flagged. Very disappointed in Ted for trying to raise skepticism about this valid scientific research from top research institutions. It's precisely the kind of narrow minded monoculture bias that the speaker talks about.

Thank you Dr. Jain, for being the trailblazer that you are as you continue to gracefully bridge science and spirituality to help us realize we have the power to heal ourselves as well as each other. In regards to Ted’s response to your talk, may I offer a quote I recently came across that may resonate with you…..”We cannot force someone to hear a message they are not ready to receive, but we must never underestimate the power of planting a seed.” And you my friend, planted one heck of a seed with this talk. May it grow tall and strong and help Ted and others evolve!!

Ted's flagging of this talk is a perfect example of the ethnocentricsm in the field of medicine and health that she mentions.

Small steps will lead to giant strides once the barriers of the physical and non physical are removed, You are helping to break down those barriers. Well done, it is all by field, the physical is the mere 3D vehicle, the field of consciousness holds all of the information and is in 4D.
