Healing Our Image of God with Paul Young

In this episode of Healing Our Image of God, I have the joy of bringing you author and theologian Paul Young. Paul's books, including The Shack, The Pastor (co-authored with Bradley Jersak), and Lies We Believe about God (to name a few), have impacted millions, inviting us to see God and ourselves through the lens of love. Watch now on my KZread channel or IGTV! bit.ly/rootedonyoutube.
In this rich and vulnerable conversation, Paul shares how his image of God was formed, his own deconstruction and his journey of restoration. We talk about the problem of pain and the question of protection as Paul invites us to understand the work of love in our lives. Then I lead us in an imaginative practice opening space for you to reflect on how you image Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit, and to notice where your images might be distorted. At the end, Paul lets us in on the three books he's writing right now, including (wait for it) a sequel to The Shack!

I’m 70 and have been a Christian for over 50 yrs, deconstructing and restoring and realising I haven’t got a clue, yet so grateful my Papa is in the whole process

Thank you so much für this episode of Healing Our Image of God. You, Susan, Paul, Young and also Bradley Jersak can‘t imagin what your videos, podcasts and books mean to me and my husband. We where searching more than 30 years for a lovingly relationship to God, to Father, Son an Holy Spirit who love us, whom we can trust and who trust us. Who meet us on eye level and in a loving encounter. First it was „The Shack“ as movie, next as book, then „Lies we believe about God“, later Brad Jersaks books „A More Christlike God“, „Can You Hear Me“, „A More Christlike Way, „A More Christlike Word“, „Rivers from Eden“ and not least your (Susan) wonderful book „Rooted (IN)“, who helped us, to get in touch with the loving God and changed our livee. God blessed us with you all. May God bless you all personal and also your work. The best wishes for you all, Bettina Henkelmann (Ludwigshafen/Germany).

Paul has such a depth of sharing that really impacts me and makes me realize how our background really molds us. Unlearning false teachings is so essential to get to the TRUTH of who God is.

Your bully only did what they did because their parents sucked and they believed lies about you. Your anger is towards God, who allows it to take place and then requires forgiveness. Your bully is in the same hopeless place you are. And I am. Hopefully God shows us the way out
