The global fans in places in the likes of Asia and Africa. There's lots more of them in those countries than there is in the UK or Ireland. So in other words it was all about where the money was and no second thought was given to the English fans who were the ones who made the club to begin with. The prix!

What's sad is everyone is emotive and to punish it a logical and legally watertight solution is needed or they will definitely get of with it. Transfer ban for everyone . 🤔Or go through the messy point deduction for all 12 which will fall to pieces because of the different leagues being separate. That dig at Stoke says a lot. Woodward resigning was planned as a contingency and an empty gesture .Awful for me being a man utd fan. Removing the CEO is good but the owners hire someone worse. They can't be genuinely punished unfortunately.

  • @barmyneddy1789

@@stephencooper7459 very well put. Maybe the owners of the greedy six know they are too big for any meaningful penalties or punishment and if so I expect it is only a matter of time before something similar is attempted. Deduct points? At the end of this current season or the beginning of next season? Not out of the question but unlikely. Demotion to a lower league? Less likely than a points deduction. The Premier League should realise the value the greedy six add to it. If the greedy six weren’t in it the value of the Premier League would be diminished at that is not being disrespectful to the other fourteen clubs. A transfer ban? Fine? Playing matches behind closed doors? Why not ban the greedy six from European competition for a season or two? That would be appropriate and in keeping with their plan to set up a European Super League. More likely the greedy six will get a slap on the wrist and nothing will change. Unfortunately.

50+1 will cause a new set of problems. Look at fan ownership in Spain and Germany. Sometimes it works, but sometimes it is a disaster. Fan infighting can paralyze decision making and cause hard feelings that last for a long time. People running for club offices spend clubs into bankruptcy or near bankruptcy to buy players the clubs cannot afford so they can get elected. Any problems that occur are harder to deal with because they arise from public opinion. Other solutions need to be found.

I had a friends dad that was offered a finance role at a premier league team that was towards the bottom of the league but he couldn’t take it as if the team was dropped from the premier league his salary would be slashed over 25% and that’s not sustainable for a guy with 3 kids. You’ve got to remember it’s not just owners but thousands of normal people work at these clubs too!

Graeme Souness and Gary nevilie should lead the public enquiry into the future of football. They both talk sense and they both know what they are talking about.

Look at what Stan Kroenke did to the St. Louis Rams. The Rams were the pride and joy of St. Louis, to be moved to the oversaturated market of Los Angeles.
