The beauty of being a NZer is we like to know what's going on everywhere else because we can't just drop in easily. So yes, some of us watch you fairly often along with Rick, and Netherlnd Bach, and Brit comedians. You are part of our international cultural appreciation.

In the distance, the sound of 1,000 guitars tuning as musicians begin writing songs about Mary. I cannot wait for Rick to react, too. This is awesome!

Legend has it the Beatles' Helter Skelter originally said 'Mary Spender' in place of 'Helter Skelter' but that version was unreleased. Just like this lost song of theirs.

Supposedly, most of The Beatles' songs were originally about Mary Spender, but their record label forced them to use other names "for the sake of originality". The band also wanted to be called The Beatos, but the pun on 'beetles' was too good to resist in an era when the Volkswagen Beetle was trendy.

Here’s another NZ fan! Check out The Wellington Heads.

Our band opened for Shady Brain Farm at Moon Bar in Newtown Wellington a few weeks back.

That is an old "Yardbirds" trick from 1965. The Yardbirds would always through the middle of the song go from 4x4 to 7x8 time up tempo. Then they would return to the original tempo for the last verse. ( not the Beatles).

The intensely British way she said "I don't know what to expect I'm nervous"

Flight of the Conchords are self described as "New Zealand's fourth most popular guitar-based digi-bongo acapella-rap-funk-comedy folk duo". These guys are NZs Fifth most popular!

In a minute we'll have The Charismatic Voice react to this lovely tune.

You've already done something big for them Mary, you've just given them world wide exposure. Clever marketing ploy ... and it was a fun song.

You had done a duet with Leo of Frog Leap Studios, that is on KZread. “Sultans of Swing”(?), I think the song was. Very nice to listen to, very enjoyable to watch. I have not watched everything you’ve posted, but what I have seen has been interesting/nice/fun. The first video that came to my mind was when you played music in an empty church in a remote part of the (UK). The acoustics of the place was remarkable. Keep up the good work!

Mary Spender - I checked out the song on Spotify, and decided to listen to the rest of the EP. The four tunes are actually quite enjoyable to listen to. They are well-structured and well-played.
