When I was 15 years of age I saw Andy Gibb skateboarding and he was truly a great skateboarder ! I was amazed and astonished as were all the girls standing together to watch him skateboading at our school. He showed up as a promise to a girl in our school but we were never told who the girl was, only that he was going to come to our school and to watch out for him. He was so beautiful, I can still see him in my mind, his long golden wavy hair streaming over his shoulders as he sped by on his skateboard. He kept smiling and proving his skill on the board. I think he had a lot of fun and energy and he was certainly a good-looking guy. He was a cheeky handsome devil at such young age. The year was 1977, he would have been 19 years of age..... It's something that I will never forget....I saw Andy Gibb with my own eyes !

Please… he wasn’t greedy . His talent was enough to keep him successful. He unfortunately was caught up in an addiction that is hard for him and anyone to overcome no matter the help. It’s very sad. It also wasn’t the responsibility of his brothers to fix him. That’s something that must eventually come from within. Let him rest in peace until the time of resurrection when he will shine not in fame but life. 💕

Andy was my teen idol. His voice was like caramel and his countenance was majestic. I remember where I was when I heard that he had died. My daughter and I were on the way to the beach; the rain was horrendous. Some news person came on the radio and announced that Andy Gibb had died. I had to pull off the road, I was so shocked. I still miss him and play his music a lot.

I can remember Andy's brothers talking about their grave concern about what was happening with Andy. Especially Barry, who seemed frantic with frustration over a perceived ending. I think it was only a matter of a couple of months; many weeks before they lost him. The Bee Gees were exceptional in so many ways. Not only were they outstanding artists and performers, but they were lovely people and there was a family cohesion that was enviable. I'm ever so glad I lived when I did to have experienced, enjoyed, and danced the nights away to their music. Forever in my heart, love forever to and for the Bee Gees. ❤ 😊❤

Such a tragic loss of a talented singer, so writer and performer. What really annoys me is the industry itself is ready to fall over you when you are famous and have a lot to give, but when you are on a decline, emotionally and mentally, instead of trying to give advice and get help, for that person, who is their artist that they are making money from, they cut them off which only exasperates the mental problems that they are having which only leads to more substance abuse. It takes strength and conviction to be able to distance yourself from the party going drugtaking industry. God rest his soul in peace.

You people just say anything about Andy Gibb but what you don't say is Andy was a really nice person who was just a baby back in those days. and it was that crazy music industry and his mother who really put way to much pressure on him. He was a kid and even Victoria Principal knew she was to old to be dealing with Andy. I meet Andy Gibb, back then I was dealing with a severe case of polio. My uncle was Louis Armstrong. And I will say this Marie Osmond used the hell out of Andy because he was so young ya and pretty. And everyone knew the Osmond was through even Ed Sullivan had enough of their mess . So what did they do took hold of a young Andy Gibb. The Bee Gees should have done more to protect their younger brother but they had their hands full. Still Don't put all that madness on Andy. Those mistakes was already put their in his path he was a very sensitive kid. Incredibly talented but still a kid. I go once a year to his grave in forest lawn because Andy always made my day and he still does. I play his music everyday. Andy was a big inspiration to me and he really believed I could one day walk and he was right. I not only walked but I won the 100x400 meters in track and field. I love Andy Gibb and I always will. 😊 I am a harpist and I wrote a beautiful song for Andy I call it Andy smile because he had such a beautiful beautiful smile.

I think when Victoria left him for her plastic surgeon it broke his heart tremendously and only pushed him further into addictions & drinking. It is said that one can die of a broken heart; the trauma of losing someone you love can actually do damage to the heart. IMHO this is what happened to him and the drinking only made it worse. So sad to see such a handsome guy go like that.

He’d have been better off if he had been less handsome with no brothers. If you or I used drugs we’d lose our jobs and soon run out of options. Andy could always leverage his good looks and famous family to go from one job to another without taking responsibility for his addiction and personal problems. By the time he started to realize this he had permanent heart muscle damage. The heart was not strong enough to pump the blood volume to the rest of the body. Then the excess fluid backs up into the lungs causing one to drown in their own fluids. The night before he died he went on an alcohol bender. The increase in fluids from the alcohol would have increased his blood volume putting further strain on his heart. We’re all going to die someday but he didn’t need to go out of this world that way. Very very sad case

I'm sadden to learn that Andy Gibb was suffering w/depression and anxiety... the music industry is full of evil people that have zero compassion nor care what drugs do to young artists. These young (or mature) artists are known as "cash cows", they're worth more dead than alive. I remember my sister and I had gone to shoot some hoops at our old middle school, when our brother showed up and told us that Andy Gibb had passed away... I was so stunned! I cried, went home and played his greatest hits album over and over.😢 He was too young to have died like that... R.I.P. Andy Gibb.🥀

Victoria Principal only used him for publicity and where was his so called loving family at when the press and others were constantly comparing him to his brothers. Too bad his family couldn't convince him to stop ruining his finances and health. Losing his recording contract had to be a huge blow. There’s a reason why the rest of the Gibb family never settled in Los Angeles. It could be a dangerous place for the young, being influenced by artists that led a hedonistic lifestyle. This is true to this day, how many stars are coming forward now, to speak of the things they endured by people who said they would mentor them. His family all wanted him to come home, to Miami, or England. He must have met people that led him down a fatal path. When you already suffer with some mental health issues drugs seem an easy way of escaping. I think it’s quite sad that Andy could not see in himself what all of his fans saw in him. I miss him, and strangely, I haven’t played one of his LPs since the day I heard he died.

I'm tired if people blaming Victoria Principal for Andy's downfall and death. He was already doing drugs before they met. After his guest appearance on the sitcom Gimme A Break, he was dating the actress who played the oldest daughter. She also said Andy's drug use ended things between them. Andy tried rehab various times. I read that when he would get out of rehab, he went back to the drug dealers. Everything he lost- co-hosting Solid Gold, a Broadway play, etc was due to drugs. So sad and tragic. RIP Andy 💔💔😢🙏
