His mother passed while he was in basic. Since he bought that house for her I'm sure it was a bit painful to be back at Graceland. He kept her room how she decorated it and her clothes hung up. You can still look in her room at Graceland today. He loved his mama

The girl he left behind was Priscilla, who he married in 67’. She’d moved to Memphis, at Elvis’ request, and Elvis’ dad and Elvis grandma oversaw her finishing high school, etc. Elvis married her when she turned 21.

@@redcurrantart Priscilla herself has said, despite her begging him, Elvis insisted she remain a virgin until they were married. There were no charges, investigations, nor evidence saying otherwise. I am not going to debate this with you when the man has been dead nearly 50 years, and she's 77. If anyone needs to mention that living arrangement, it should be her...not us.

Jane H commenting …. Yes, I have often thought that he would not have been dead by the age of 42 if his beloved mother had not died (at the age of 47) of a heart attack. That was a profound loss in his life, because he loved her so much & they had always been so close. It was just such a tragedy that her lost her that way.

Elvis was drafted, but higher ups in Army wanted him to serve his time performing on different bases. He refused and said he wanted to serve with all the others who got drafted and he did! I really expect that about him. He would not allow himself to receive special attention.

I so agree im a 62 year old "guys-guy" but I always loved Elvis especially that amazing voice. Before the army the radio stations were burning his records and churches were damning him for his dance moves, then it seemed like after his straight time in the army and seeing this interview opinions changed for the better as they saw Elvis the man instead of Elvis the showman and saw what a down to earth person he really was. Elvis was so unfairly judged early on because of his performances that ruffled so many feathers, now he's loved the world over. God bless you Elvis RIP.

As usual, you gave a great reaction. I just want to clarify a few things for you. Elvis served in the Army during peacetime. He was given the opportunity to be assigned to an entertainment unit but chose to serve as a regular soldier. When stars would come to put on shows, they wanted him to join them but he always turned them down. I assume he didn't go out while in German was probably for the same reason he couldn't go out in public in the U.S. He would be mobbed so he was concerned for his own safety as well as the safety of his fans. The girl he was talking about would become his wife seven years later. As for the kisses he liked to give his female fans, he didn't hold off on that until 1960. I'm guessing that started in about 1955.

The United States, regardless of what anyone says, drafted Elvis to end his career. The fact that he went, made it known that he went through it like everyone else, and had the Colonel keeping him in the spotlight for two years, he gained more respect and garnered a larger audience.

I think the authorities would have preferred to put him in jail, for his interaction with black people at a time when segregation laws were strictly in place, & because he refused to become a standstill singer, as they all were up to that point. But they knew they would have had a riot on their hands, because young people would not just have stood silently by & let them do that. So drafting him into the army, & then shipping him off to post-war Germany was the next best thing, because they thought he would just fade quietly away into obscurity, & be forgotten about).

They held hands stepping out of divorce Court and she continued to call him the love of her life. I think it was because he was a gentleman, he didn’t kiss n tell. He was the King and he treated each lady like a Queen... even if it was for a day

He never got to tour Europe or the rest of the world because he was managed by Col. Tom Parker...an illegal immigrant...who was afraid of leaving because he may not be allowed to get back into the States. So, Parker never booked foreign shows. He had what I consider an exploitative contract with Elvis...a manager fee of 50%! Elvis may not have looked at it as being taken advantage of, because he was so humble and generous. When someone would tell him he needed to watch his spending and gifting, he would say it's only money...not being arrogant, but a humble child of God. He only had a few hundred thousand dollars left (=$5,000,000 in today's money) when he died. For a huge worldwide superstar, that is not a lot of money to maintain your lifestyle with. Due to her default mortgages, unpaid taxes, and huge credit debt responsibilities, his daughter went from inheriting $100,000,000 to a net worth of -$16,000,000...yes, MINUS $16MILLION.

Colonel Tom Parker was not a United States citizen. He resided in the country without legal status for the rest of his life and never left the country's borders. He changed his name and claimed to have been born in the United States, and his Dutch birthplace and immigrant status were not revealed for many years. Because of this, Elvis could never perform outside this country.

All I feel is it I like the fact that you mentioned that they said.. oh it's at all and they shut off the video. Alarm came off in my head and I realized that was pretty rude to Elvis and I don't appreciate that that this interview is didn't realize how rude that was to elvis. However I'm sure that always being the person he is with wisdom didn't make an issue of it but I do believe he was kind of hurt that's my opinion. And then maybe not but I was turned off at the way that they the photographers ended the interview without thinking Elvis formally for the interview.

One bad thing that happened when he was in the service, was to get hooked on uppers and downers and this lead to the downfall of Elvis. using the uppers and downers led to much heavy drugs.

On telegram Elvis is alive and a Pastor. He's brilliant! Bob Joyce is Elvis. Go backwards to see what he's about. I told him about you. He's 86 not a wrinkle on him. Still as kind, down to earth and as funny as ever. Check it out, lots of ppl on there.

Bob Joyce has repeatedly denied being Elvis. Even if you THINK he is despite his denials and the big age difference, you don't KNOW for a fact that he is. Therefore you shouldn't be spreading it as fact.

@@LM-hb6yn Very true but now that the ppl who wanted him dead are gone he's been proving it on his telegram page. There is so much he's putting out there now that he can. There is also so much he's showing us as well. Take a look at his telegram statements going back months ago. If you still disagree that's ok. As long as we are respectful to each other's thoughts.I still did tell him what an impact he had on you. Hey, ya never know!

@@LM-hb6yn He was on twitter as 72 seconds. I knew it was him from someone I was tweeting with. I got thrown off he may still be on. On telegram he's Bob Joyce is Elvis. I was just looking at past posts and he still speaks in code, I'm trying to figure out his message. Unbelievable family members I would love to have dinner with them. if you want to see some others that are alive check out Clouseau-Trump-rallies. Yep he helped them fake their deaths. I just found out Kobe, Biggie about 900 were in witness protection. Enjoy!!
