​@benquilter113 In the first attempt you go bare hands. But Devon doesn't always do well with that, and if your hands are smaller than your opponents you are at a disadvantage, so often times if he starts losing or it doesn't feel right to him, he'll pull his hand out (losing grip). Now, that's usually technically a foul and you're not allowed to obviously just pull your hand out, but unless it's very obvious people usually get away with it. That's why the big guy yelled at him, You let go! If either opponent loses grip during the first attempt, then they put straps on their hands to tightly bind them together and that helps equalize different hand sizes or even grip strengths. This guy is obviously massive and likely has bigger and stronger hands than Devon, so Devon did that to help take away some of that advantage and let his skill take over. Although, it actually doesn't appear that they have straps on during the second round. But then the other guy is a pro wrestler and this may have been more of a promotional thing. If you don't follow arm wrestling much, Devon has been one of the top in the world for years.
