My dad ran our family business for 40 years and now i've been running it for nearly 20 and never had a single problem concerning money. If someone is going to rob you, they where never true family or friends in the first place. Money doesn't ruin things, greedy vile people do.

Exactly, it's because Barry arranged things so that cyclone were paid directly. BM hid the true value of purses from Carl, took his 35% management fee then added on other expenses to inflate costs as well as hiding true income- well worth reading for yourself it's crazy how he was treated!

Carl was a a star on the irish amateur scene when Barry picked him up. I remember at the time thinking Barry was out to make a quick few pound from carl. Back then, nobody of note were picking up irish amateur prospects.

It’s easier said than done, most fighters come from poor working class backgrounds where they aren’t taught about money management, investing, paying taxes etc, they put those responsibilities into the hands of people they think are doing right by them, but in alot of cases especially boxing that’s not always the case.

@@kiely4561 No. You are wrong about Frank Warren. Boxing Reform Act came into effect in 1999 which ensures the welfare and rights of boxers. Don King was fleecing his fighters 30 years ago but Dubois got every penny of his split out of him after an initial delay. If it was 1990's Dubois would've probably gotten shafted.

@@Anonymous-bb8mg I’m not wrong about Frank, Joe Calzaghe won a court battle with him back in 2009 over unpaid money, Leonard bundu wasn’t paid on time when he fought on a Frank warren card, Ricky burns has claimed he was not paid by Warren, a number of fighters have come out complaining about the way Frank does business, whether he eventually paid some of them is irrelevant, the fact is he has messed numerous fighters around over the years, all of which is post 1999

Imagine when it finally came down to it in court and having to itemise the ‘expenses’ and tell them you billed him for a sunbed session! I’d rather just say ok far cop we spent it all on meals and booze!

Barry is despicable and has made a mess of this, 👍carl is a gentleman, legend 👍☘

Nice that he's aware of the negative impact that alcohol can have on society and is building that into the enterprise that he's creating, good man!
