He sacs his Queen on move 7. At 14 years old. You have to see this.
Sometimes you can tell about an upcoming legend just from one game. I think this was the case.
the game is
Eero Einar Book vs. A. Hiidenheimo
Helsinki (junior tournament): 1924

@@scarletevans4474 I think you're misunderstanding me, I'm not defending anyone, I'm not a lawyer, you're free to roast whoever you want (or you can), that boy is a legend, no quotes, no questions asked, it's not an opinion, it's a fact, and I never said HE shouldn't have a queen, I said 14 year old kids usually do hang their queens due to lack of attention or skill, which is completely different. But hey, you also have the right of getting offended for no reason at all, that's absolutely up to you :D
Early queen sacrifice was only the warm-up. Not bothering to capture a queen for free. Castle check. Chasing the king to the far corner of the board by force. Multiple options for beautiful checkmates. Black never even moved a piece on his queen side. Incredible game even if he was 40 years older.

That's not a sac, it's a tactical queen trade
He really wanted the king to see his horse at home.
I really like this guy for explaining everything in detail and inspiring me to play chess every day
It's like the battles in medieval era and before, where the army isolated the enemy king with it's personal guards, and killed him. Beautiful checkmate but respect also to the opponent that continued playing instead of resigning.

Love these old games; they really show how to attack & are excellent material for developing one’s tactical sense
The game is amazing and this is noticeable .. But the most wonderful and beautiful is the way you explain .. You are an unnatural artist .. You deserve the Palme d'Or and the Oscar together .. Thank you, you made me happy on this day. I hope that all your coming days and the days of all your followers will be happy ..God bless you all🙏

This game reminds us that there are some brilliant chess players in the early times... Few were recognized and some were buried to oblivion...
Thanks for sharing that and I appreciate your enthusiasm with which you shared.
An absolutely beautiful game played there. The queen was majestic and the checkmate sequence was wow. Love the video Zach and thanks for showing us a game which all of us probably haven't seen before ❤️
Eero Einar Böök (9 February 1910 - 7 January 1990). Probably would have gained more recognition if not for WW II. Yeah, we'd like to see his game against Alekhine.
Excellent video, thanks!
Wonderful Analysis! Thank you and I subscribed.
Mind-blowing game. Many thanks!
Once the king is in that far to enemy territory the end is not that far off but if the king finds sanctuary the tables can be turned
That one was fantastic, and fantastically told. Thanks! Now, give us the game against Alekhine! :)
If there's one kind of presentation of crazy chess at it's best, then it's your's, Nerdy! Simply amazing!👏
Great game, great explanation. How did you find this game?
Amazing game! Thank you so much friend!
I love your videos and your attitude man
When this 14 year old kid sacrifices his queen, he is an 'upcoming legend.' When I 'sacrifice' my queen, i'm a 'completely idiot' and i need to 'quit chess.'
Babe wake up, chessnerd just uploaded.
When this 14 y/o does it its "a brilliant move" and "he's such a genius prodigy" but when i do it it's "a stupid blunder" and "i should either quit chess or learn how to stop hanging my queen"
Loved the call out to Levy. You're more interesting to view than his normal presentation, which is not nothing. He's good. You're better.
In the opening mr. Book played a lot of book moves
06:01 black can give a check with dark square bishop and creating discover attack on white dark square Bishop
This is all book moves!
O-O-O+ is always mandatory
Devastating brev. Just devastating.
Great video! Name pronunciation was completely off the rails, though.😅 Eero is somewhat close to "aero". For the öö in Böök, it's close to 'u' in British "further".
@thechessnerd
9 ай бұрын
Yes, I have been correct by a great chess historian on this one and will pronounce better (certainly now that Böök is phonetically “Beuk”). I have a question - aero pronounced “airo” or “a-e-ro” ? thanks!
@tapatarv
8 ай бұрын
"airo" is close. The actual wovel sound doesn't occur in English, but think of e in "let" and stretch it to roughly double length. Or if you speak German, it's like "eh" in "sehr".
Craaazy.
That looks like a TAL game
Beautiful game! We are all waiting for the game against Alekhine ❤️
Yes! Something from Finland
0:32 I get you he will go crazy
8:00 isn’t bishop e2 a faster mate
But at 02:14 black could've taken that pawn on d4 it was hanging right ?
Unbelievable!😮❤
10:36 that is truly the best part of this game 😅
They’re all gonna show this to levy lol
Warning: I've been sacking my queen on move 7 for weeks. It doesn't work...
When white plays e5 at 2:44, it's marked as a mistake. I think it's better to take the pawn (with pawn or queen) or bring the bishop out to attack the queen. Black would end up with many trapped pieces and pins because of mate threats. (The black knight is in a really silly place trying to stop the bishop getting to f7, so you don't need to attack it with the pawn. It's effectively dead already).
@AutPen38

I mean d5.
I'm gonna try that
6:00 but it's not piece up after White takes the queen with Bishop, Black Bishop h6 check the king have to move and Rook can simply capture that bishop
How do I explain that I got checkmated on a2 from e8 ???

Love you matojeevi ❤
If I was playing this as white, I would have gotten nervous once black king took white light squared bishop, and doubted ability to force mate. Taking the queen right away would still have been awesome tactic... skewering right after sacrificing queen, and forcing black king forward is great in and of itself. Unbelievable that anybody could see that far ahead and see they could force mate, while losing light squared bishop no less.
Nice beautiful
Ya‘ll better like the video I wanna see Alekhine vs. Book!

7:24 You’re completely misreading this position, and missing forced mate. King b6 is forced mate by Bishop e3 (not the rook to b5 move you looked at). King forced to c6, light squared bishop to b5 is mate.
@TheJoacojoaco

What about Bc5 or c5 instead of “forced” Kc6?
@KingOfTheJuice666

@@TheJoacojoacoBc5 ends in mate anyway after the bishop is taken by white’s dark sq bishop. Or, Knight c to a4? I’m pretty certain there’s a mate either way c5 I didn’t even think of, to be honest. Wouldn’t it still be mate though? Take with rook and move knight next move for checkmate?
