Hey Rhett.....hear Samba pro Rafa by Yamandu Costa...
The Internet is often blamed for a lot of shit (and rightfully so) but at the same time, videos like this posted on the Internet allows me to discover bands, artists, guitar players, etc... that I would never hear about if it weren't for the Internet! Thanks for making and sharing this video!!

You need to get Tory Slusher on. She can play 1384 scales musically, not just one.
Said it before ... gonna say it again: I love how you pay it forward to the community at large when you highlight artists like @MikeSealguitar and others. You shine light on those who shine light on the art of music! Thank you all! 👏👏👏
It's just great knowing there are always new talents to look to. The Guitar Hero never really dies indeed.
Thanks for the introduction! Talk about another level! I could watch him play for hours. He has to be looking at his guitar like a piano while he plays. Extraordinary
Dude, Rhett... Thank you for doing these types of videos. I absolutely love and respect that you use your platform to get other faces seen and their talents recognized. It shows your true love for the music, and one I share. I never quite got the handle on a guitar (even though I have 7 of them) so I focus my efforts on creating shows. Through you I have discovered a number of people I want for a show (Dylan Adams is top of that list). Just, thank you man. Thank you for sharing the gift of really good music with us all. You are a rockstar, dude.
I met Mike when he came through Portland playing with Jerry Douglas. Incredibly nice human and he absolutely smoked that stage that night. Huge fan ever since.
That Jessica was absurd... Dude is a monster player

I absolutely love that song. This has the same notes and is completely different. The feel within the rhythm… It’s kind of like a great drummer working within the beat. Rhett’s bossanova statement is the closest thing I can think of. I don’t know, I may love it more. I ultimately don’t care about ranking, but I’m going to obsess over this for a while.

I love your channel and your passion for music mostly guitar. as a weekend warrior and couch brusker, it’s really refreshing when you make a video. Thanks!!!🤘🏻
Follower from Brazil here! Really liked how you Rhett said good things about our music! Greetings!
It's awesome seeing you make the faces that I do when I watch alot of other players as well!
Mike Seal is the nicest guy, and his work speaks for itself. Thanks for spreading the word. He definitely should have more folks know about his awesome talent. Check out his Paganini studies!!
Thanks for the videos Rhet!
Thanks for highlighting Mike. His Carter’s videos blew my mind so I searched the net for more and there surprisingly little out there for someone of his caliber. I agree, he’s one of the best. Period.
He’s a brave man for tackling an Yamandu Costa’s song on a electric guitar… can’t say I’ve seen that done often. Yamandu is a beast of a player, and Mike did a great job with that song. I’ll definitely listen to more of his material as I’m mostly a fingerstyle player too. Thanks for spreading the word, he really sounds amazing!
I commented on Rick's channel a while ago. Rhett, I'd like to see you and Rick, and others of your stature explore more of the Nashville players from past and present. While I always appreciate you guys' videos on other genre players and always learn a lot, I think deep diving into the Country thing and the associated great players would add a whole new dimension. Thanks for posting.

Nashville's musicians are (and have been) some of the best in the world, yet they're often overlooked by everyone outside of the country music community.
In highschool I met mike in a Church gig. I was on bass and after rehearsal he went home and got a bunch of music to give me. Incredible guitar player and amazing person
If you're from Knoxville.. You've heard of Mike Seal for years.... THANKS for spreading the word about this treasure.

YES MIKE SEAL LOVE!!! Love him, the lovells and the TB crew
Hey Rhett, Love the channel, been following you for years back when you were doing your "life on the road of a guitar player" posts. Really appreciate the heads up on Mike Seals. Its done more for me than just expose me to a new GREAT player to follow. I'm 69 now, been playing since I first saw the Beatles in 1962 and had to get a guitar. I've got various electrics and acoustics and got into finger style in high school and it's pretty much all I've played since regardless of what guitar I'm on. My point in bringing this up is that I've carried this guilt of not being nearly as adept as I should be with a pick, so I'll occasionally grab one to force myself to work on it, only to put it aside after a few minutes to go back to what I'm much better at and what works for me. Seeing a player as talented as Mike Seals sticking to his style will make is easier for me to pass by my tray of picks when I grab a guitar off the rack and stay the course I'm on and continue improving on that.
I’ve never heard of him until now and I’m definitely with you on his amazing ability. Friggn amazing
WOW. Last 2 times we were in Nashville, we really loved listening to Kelly's Heroes. Guitarist Luke McQueary and the band are great!
I first heard about Mike Seal from the PRS video doing press for the new T Style they launched. Put a bunch of Nashville pros in a room and Mike stood out to me immediately. Guys a legend
thank you Rhett,
Phenomal player. Thanks for introducing him to your viewers.
As I watched this it really underlined how he made his own style work for him. I have a nephew who has a quite unorthodox (under whose rules?), picking style, that, works for him. In other words, if you weren’t watching him play, you wouldn’t know/notice. Many players aren’t classically/formally trained but cannot be denied their skill/musicianship. It’s great to see it demonstrated at otherworldly levels. Thanks Rhett!
The dual harmony Jessica is really nice! I'm struggling so hard right now to make that sound smooth, and I'm only doing Frosty the Snoman with my kid. What a great example to strive for! Thanks for turning me onto this guy!
Thx again Rhett.
He is simply amazing !
good stuff, another good job of finding and prompting true talent.
Hey Rhett , it was nice to meet you at Carter's the Monday before Thanksgiving. We were both slobbering over the Colling's Lage OM model ! I drove on to Louisville for a show taking some time to think about it and lucked into a Martin custom shop OM there that stole my heart and kept me from trading my Boucher ! Thanks for shedding some light on Mike Seal. What a beast. Take care and thanks for what you do . Pat Puckett
He play with Sierra Hull, amazing player. Very original style and approach to playing ❤
Love Mike!
Hands down one of the most innovative and exciting players today!! I met Mike over 10 years ago. The first time I saw him play, it broke my brain and took me months to recover as a guitar player 😂. On top of that, he’s a super sweet human. Go see him as soon as you can!!!!
This guy is Chet Atkins, Vince Gill, Danny Gatton, and several others on speed- so much musicality at that pace is so rare! Thanks for sharing this.
Thanks for the introduction!
Seeing guys like this keeps the fire going in guitar players..
A very unique style of picking, and certainly playing on a different level. Excellent video content. Cheers!
So clean and precise. Well, I live here in Nashville and I will definitely be checking him out!
I live in Nashville and I've never heard of him but then I don't get out much. He's aweeome.
That guy's absolutely amazing!
Amazing player. I like this video, very cool to see a YT guitar guy talk about his favorite players.
Brilliant. Simply brilliant 👏👏👏👏👏👏❤🎉
Mark Knopfler plays similar finger style - also a monster player obviously. What I see them both able to do is to vary the dynamics note to note, almost like creating ghost notes and more sparsely interject power notes. It’s a wonderful talent and skill. Makes the song really come alive in a kind of singing fashion. Thanks for sharing! I hope a full recording of him doing Jessica is out there. I’m going to look!
Don't forget about Guthrie Trapp. He's a guitar wizard.

finally Mike get´s what he deserves. He is unbelievable. Thanks Rhett.
Thanks for sharing this Rhett! I am blown away with the finger style techique of Manteo Mancuso and Mikes playing. Unbelievable! As a guitar player want to be, I realize I am not worthy! THIS IS NARLY1
Wow!! Thanks for the recommendation, Rhett.
Mike is incredible. Nice piece on him
Equally astounding is the way Mike Seal can rip through J.S. Bach pieces so cleanly on an electric guitar as well as play slide solos with a screwdriver. These videos are on Mike Seal's KZread channel as well. Mike Seal also happens to be married to Meagan Lovell of Larkin Poe. That whole family has got some serious musicianship street cred goin' on. 😎🎸🎶

I saw him play with Jerry Douglas at Frederick Meijer Gardens here in Michigan, opening for Tommy Emmanuel. It rained cats and dogs that day, and a thunderstorm cut Tommy's set short a bit. But there was plenty of time to see how Mike is such a musical guitarist with both formidable chops and taste.
Just incredible. I love these videos where you surface great guitarists I haven't heard of. Anyone have links to full live sets?
amazing technique and tone!
Wow, thanks for turning me on to him! I live in Nashville Im going to go check him out
Thanks so much for sharing.
Wow. What a player! Holy cow!
Yes, Mike Seal is a killer guitarist, and he's the guitarist's guitarist. 😻 He's also married to Megan Lovell of Larkin Poe, a killer lap steel guitar musician and singer in her own right. 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
My band and I supported the Black Lillies in Madrid in 2017, the band was awsome, and specially the guitar player blew our minds, amazing taste, tone and musicality, fingerpicking style on an Ibanez, we were so fascinated. The next day I couldn´t remember his name, thanks for putting him back in my life!
Mike comes to my area quite often with the Jeff Sipe Trio and all 3 of the members blow my mind every time.. Jeff Sipe is an amazing drummer.. Mike Seal is the guy who told me about Mateo Mancuso, another similar player..
What a player, thanks!
Dude’s got feel. Awesome! 🔥🎸🔥

Nah. Tory Slusher has feel.
Appreciate you sir...great personality...great playing...one of your newest fans..
Mike is the best!!
He is playing an old famous Brazilian song called “Aquarela do Brasil” composed by Joao Gilberto , the first one with the Stratocaster . Very cool !!
I first saw Mike playing with the Jeff Sipe Trio in Wilmington, NC back in 2009 since a bass player I knew told me Jeff played with Shawn Lane and Jonas Hellborg and I should check them out.. That night I couldn't take my eyes off Mike's playing as he just ripped through stuff like Bright Size Life, Busted, Better Get a Hit in Yo Soul and I think they played Oleo and thought to myself "Why am I even playing guitar?" I took a lesson with him another time he was in town and he was the nicest, down-to-earth guy. He plays classical, country, bluegrass, jazz all effortlessly and acts like it's no big deal. I love his playing
Something that jumped out at me was he looks like he has roped a tornado and is barely holding on. So many guitar players make it look effortless. And not that he doesn't seem in control, but he seems like he's just barely on the other side of the thing kicking out and smacking him in the face and he's doing everything he can to hold on. It's like watching a storm play guitar. Truly mesmerizing.
Mike Seal is the man!
Yup that dude is phenomenal!
This guy’s right hand is crazy good, amazing guitarist that I’ve never heard of, thanks for the introduction.
I saw MIke play live a few years ago with Sierra Hull in a little show in upstate New York. Absolutely bonkers playing. Definitely easy to go down a rabbit hole looking for clips of him playing.
Well done.
Oh my lord! Not thinking he got out much as a kid! Monster!
Impressive playing! In a completely different genre but with similar lightning speed fingerstyle technique I feel Matteo Mancuso is another extraordinary player.
Wow!! I only took lessons for a short period of time by a local classical guitarist by the name Mika. One thing i noticed right off the bat with Mike Seal is that right hand is placed properly. All fingers are at the ready for each string. Amazing to watch! That for me was maybe the hardest thing to try to get down. My teacher pressed that sort of hand and finger placement. I used to wonder why.. The proof is in his pudding!! The range of his styles i think is what also makes him great! Look at Randy rhoads for instance. Jazzy/ classical background which helped make his guitar playing so unique! Thanks for sharing! Rock on Mike!! Rock on Rhett!!
Certainly one of my personal favs
I love that fingerstyle playing is pushing boundaries day by day, and is getting this level of coverage/recognition. Check out Matteo Mancuso. Thanks Rhett!
Loved it, he is so good. Imagine what it would sound like if he was playing on the new Collings 470 JL designed for Julian Lange. That would be truly sublime for me
Most striking thing to me was his intonation, especially on the allman brothers tune.... Flawless tuning.
Going to see him at my local guitar shop today!
AHHHG - I'll be in Nashville Dec. 10-12 but will miss his gig on the 13th . . . next time. My amazing find years ago just popping in randomly to live music joints in Nashville was Richie Scholl.
Glad to Mike getting his props. Love overdue. I love hearing him play with his wife, Megan Lovell of Larkin Poe( aka, The Slide Queen). Part of Mike's appeal is how at ease he is. So relaxed and just enjoying it.
So good! Luke McQueary is insane too!!
Mike is the best guitarist around today. I'm annoyed that nobody has shoved him into the recording studio. Please please please make some Mike Seal recordings. Let's not let this legend go to waste.

I hate comments like that. It shows musical ignorance. He may be the best, but in his genres.
I get it Rhett, thanks for sharing!
I took a lesson with Mike while I was visiting Nashville after seeing him play with Viktor Krauss. Super nice guy and incredible player!
Mikes work with Jeff Sipe Trio is extraordinary too
whoa can't believe i had never heard this guy! wtf..amazing
So many great players in Nashville. Luke McQueary blew me away.
he makes sound the guitar like a banjo. OMG! is a master
Yeah, wow.
A few years ago a drummer friend of mine from Atlanta posted a clip of him playing with Mike Seal in a tiny noisy club . I could immediately tell he was exceptional without much hotdogging . I have followed his playing ever since . BTW I emailed my drummer friend and asked if all the the guitar players around Atlanta play that well and he said no .)
Saw Mike Seal open up for Tedeschi Trucks with the Jeff Sipe Trio back in 2013. I was completely blown away. He’s top tier.
Saw Mike with the Jerry Douglas Band recently. He is everything Rhett says he is. jaw dropping talent.
Banjo rolls. Neat picking.
Insane
1:11 *Rhett watching me brewing coffee on my baristas rush* 😂
He's good. I'll check more of his stuff out. I was watching a lot of Luke Mcqueary play with Kelleys heroes and that dude is another Nashville guitar player that is mind blowing.
