Cassius, a graduate of the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, first came to Edward's attention when he applied for the 2022 Stephen Sondheim Society Student Performer of the Year competition. Cass made the final 12 and impressed judges with his interpretations of "Class" from Sondheim's Saturday Night and the newer song "What'll it Be?" by Jim Barne and Kit Buchan.
