I've never seen an addict admitting to his addiction like this. I can tell he's thought about this before but doesn't know what to do to stop.

Reason why he doesn't know how to stop is because he don't know the cause. To stop something, you just need to cut the roots. He's addicted to gaming because of freedom. He's married but acting like single. The solution would be her wife asking for more. Her wife needs to be stronger in order to control a part of his life. His wife doesn't ask for anything. That's why he said that he thought it's okay since her wife doesn't really say anything about it. He knows that what he's doing is bad but without anyone providing a goal, he can't stop. He unconsciously think that spending that much is okay right now because there's no plans for the future yet.

“Talking here will not help, you need to get treatments for your addiction.” I was nodding at that. Finally someone wise enough to say this!!

When will people learn that you can not change a person or expect a person to change once you marry them. It doesn't work like that.If a person has bad habits before you marry them they will still have them after the wedding too. Change can only happen if that person really wants to and works hard to do so. But no one should expect it just because they want it.

@@kiianamxmb5195 marriage doesn't change anything. I dated my husband before marriage and nothing changed. I lived with 2 exs before my husband and chose not to marry them. Living together is a tell tell sign if someone is a partner for marriage. You shouldn't expect others to change for you, instead leave them if you are not compatible. Find someone who is ready for those responsibility, no need to beat the dead fish over and over again. One day when you are an actually grown up you will understand.

I do believe in change. Everything change, the environment, technologies and especially people. I have known a lot of people change after marriage and some are on my bloodline. It's like marriage became a toll for them to change for the better. They became more understanding and cares each others feelings and thoughts on a matter. And I'll tell you they're the happiest married I've ever seen. You can see in their eyes and smiles how genuine and happy they are. In contrast with married relatives and friends I know that believes that they can't change their partner because that's how they are before they marry them are not happy with their married life. Though I understand and respects them with their principles.

In this whole universe, the only thing that can really change you is your own thoughts, nobody and no thing, marriage included. Ask your married family members whose thoughts ensured and sustains change, theirs or their spouse's. My dear, if you believe you can see anyone change based on your ideals about marriage you are up for a trip to hell. You cannot bet whether someone will change after marriage cuz you never know what a person will choose to think.

TBH they are both at fault here. He should pay more attention to his wife and she should be more honest. Communication helps so much in relationships

I feel so bad for her. Thinking that you are not enough for him is an serious low self esteem problem, and he's making her feel worst. I just don't get why people get married in such conditions like this. She gave and stills give everything to him because she loves him, it is clear. But for me it doesn't look like he feels the same way about her, he's not even at home. I hope she can love herself intensely (more than the love she has for her husband, cause I always say that if you can't love yourself, how can you love somebody else?). And I hope he appreciate the beautiful and amazing woman he has at his side and gives her love the same way she does.

I really hope the husband will seek treatment for his addiction. I think it is positive that hes already aware of it and Im glad they pointed it out that he needs treatment. I hope he goes for it. Meanwhile the wife, I wish she'd improve her self esteem and takes more care of herself. Also from the parts I have watched the guests this week were really on point with their advises and thoughts

I cant believe this guy could flat out lie in National TV shows that he didn’t smoke or drink when he actually did both.. It make me doubts all his promises in the end.. It sounds too good to be true

this is so wrong on so many levels....his gaming addiction is the LEAST of their worries :/

I didn't understand when the wife said she was concerned about hurting each other. She does not hurt him. The husband does nothing but hurt HER.

The wife is too kind . She needs to be more stern and honest about her feelings . The husband need to change his habits . He have debts but still spent money on games > Please married only when you are ready to take responsibility. This is not love. If you really love someone, you will change for the better . It seems his addiction to games isn't their biggest issue, their issues is he doesn't care to spend time with his wife/at home. As someone who games religiously, and most of my gaming buddies would agree: while PC bang is very fun, but having a gaming PC at home is better because you basically play whenever you want. For someone that addicted to games, he could've easily bought a gaming PC for his house, especially since that would mean he can be around his wife. But he CHOSE to play elsewhere, aka NOT be home.

Husband only take for granted from his wife..

marriage is not magic nothing changes before marriage and after for me esp you have lived together. Been married for years now and nothing is different from the days I have lived with my husband. You can love someone and not be compatible for marriage. My exs were horrible roommates and guess what marriage is? roommates as well as love. I chose not to marry them. Did i love them at the time? yes, but they are not compatible for long term life together as partners. Find someone who is compatible instead of thinking you are that one magical special person and you have the power to change someone. No you are not, you can never force changes on some one else and even if that person change there is no proof they won't revert back. You can take your risk but suck it up when it doesn't work. You knew how he was before , what did you expect. Live together before marriage and if you are not compatible find someone who is ready and is.

Remember girls.. Your future husband will never change his bad habits after you get married. Don't even once think that you can change him after marriage later, and never believe if he said he would change after marriage later.. Only God's hand can change it..

I’m not even done watching the video and I’m screaming at my tv loudly! This is just unbelievable. She should work on her self-esteem, I dislike seeing her be so scared to tell her husband it’s not okay to be out so late playing games. And they should’ve just stayed dating or gone separate ways, instead of getting married. My goodness, there’s many other men out there! With sincerity and other better qualities. I feel that if you begin to question, “I’m sure they’ll change once we get married,” you should evaluate the entire relationship. Edit: please don’t have kids until you pay off the entire debt. Because the wife usually stays at home as a home wife with the house and family as her main responsibilities. Countries such as Japan and Korea are quite conservative in these things :)

I think that her low self-esteem and his addiction are both big problems. I used to have very low self-esteem so I know how much she has to work on it.

@@ayshaeman8762 I am not sure really, I posted this comment a long time ago, and today I still struggle with low self-esteem, but I'm older now (so I know more). I think first, it has to do with surrounding yourself with people who respect you and avoid those who don't. If there are people in your life who put you down you need to avoid them or devalue their opinion. If you find a group of friends you feel you can be authentic with, you will learn to appreciate and find your true self. You also need to believe people when they compliment you. I think it also has to do with cognitive reframing. Basically when you have low self-esteem, you usually think low of yourself, so when you have thoughts that put you down you need to stop them. To stop these negative thoughts you have to first examine if they really serve you, and then stop thinking about them or change them into something more positive, for exemple "I may not be as worthless as I think". And btw, I leanred 3 days ago that my father and my 2 brothers all have autism except me. I always admired my brother because he was so smart and perfect, but I learned that he struggles a lot socially. My mother would always value my brother more than me and she would always criticise me and compare me to him. Turns out social skills weren't valued in my family, and I have my own strenghts. I was the normal one surrounded by odd people, so I felt different. Sometimes you learn stuff at 23. I still admire my brother but I don't have to be like him.

You know what i suggest is that she tries not to get pregnant for now and leaves him for a month or 2.Divorcing is a big step so for now leave him and try not to contact him,live her life,have fun.Then if doesn’t want to change,is not missing her,doesn’t go out of his way to see her then divorce.

As a gamer, there's few reasons why someone is addicted to a game. One, you want to be competitive, going professional or the first on that game. It's the same thing as going valedictorian in school. That's my case. In his case, his addiction mostly lies elsewhere. I believe it's because he doesn't have a goal. They're newlywed. He hasn't thought yet of the future. What comes next after being married? Getting kids? Do I have money for that? Getting a house? Do I have savings? He hasn't matured yet as a husband. He haven't thought yet of the future. He's only living at the moment. We both play games but I rarely spend money on my games. He spends A LOT like someone who is single and without commitment would do. He's like a kid in high school who doesn't have plans yet. That's why he spends that much in games. Importance of savings as a wedded couple hasn't sunk in yet. It's mostly because his wife is so lenient to him. Even if they're married, he's acting like single. That's what I think the main root of the problem. PS. Other causes of gaming addiction is depression from home, school or surrounding. They immerse themselves in games because they have no place to vent out. It's not the case for this one.

Girls don't ever think that you can change a guy's bad habit If you can live with it ho ahead If you think that love would make everything better you re WRONG !!

Honestly this is probably one of the worst married couple concern on hello counselor. He's a game addict, even when their dating, he's attitude has shown. For sure, he will never change and he doesn't feel guilty or sympathy for the wife, you could tell from his expression when their discussing, he doesn't seem to care one bit. It's much better for her to leave him before she gets pregnant.

Try playing buying PCs at home and playing games together? This is Korea, so I doubt the guy plays a lot of different games. He probably just plays one game to the death and is actually addicted to that one game.
