Something similar has happened to me. An undercover police car was behind me. I was going 5 or 10 over the speed limit, and he turned his police lights on briefly and motioned with his hand telling me to switch lanes. I did that, and he went WAYY over the speed limit. I was just glad he wasn’t pulling me over for speeding

Had a cop do the same thing to us. We were heading back into California from Vegas and going over the section that has a lot of downhill and goes really fast. A cop pulled up next to us and made a hand motion to tell us to slow down. We were VERY appreciative that he did not pull us over because he did pull someone else over not too long after that. Thank you, CHP officer 😁

Mid 90's I was riding my motorcycle in morning commute, there was a split in the highway where the majority of traffic went. As soon as I cleared the congestion I opened up and got up to maybe 80 mph, not super fast but I was definitely passing everyone else. I didn't know police was directly behind me (not Highway Patrol). He pulled alongside and told me through his loudspeaker to slow down. Of course I complied and didn't become a scene for the 6 o'clock news.

@clipclop15 no. You're reading way too much into that. Being happy we didn't get pulled over does not mean we are happy someone else got pulled over. They likely were doing something more egregious than we were since we were not the only ones that he told to slow down without pulling them over. I think they give some leeway since they know it's a long time of going downhill, and it makes people go fast without realizing it.

You’re giving the cops way too much credit assuming the person they chose to stop was actually in the wrong. Many police are incompetent, and many decide to use their officer discretion based on whether or not they feel respected by the person they choose to pull over while doing the job they chose to sign up for

You can call literally anything useless if there’s no audience or market for it.
Can you imagine being an airport for 7 hours, and finding a comfortable position to hold a long call in, just for some random teenager to literally walk up to you and publicly laugh at your face and make you self conscious for her tiktok? It was so needlessly cruel.

He was probably on his way to a non-emergency call where he needed to hurry but didn't put his lights or siren on (probably looking for a specific car on that road). Saw the biker on his way and decided to let him know it wasn't okay, but didn't take the time to stop him.
