@@marcschoech1348 It's downhill singletrack dude, "just passing" is a sure recipe for disaster. It's better to give up the place to the guy behind you who claims to be faster than to risk a potentially deadly crash. If he is faster, he'll overtake you anyway eventually, and keeping yourself in his way is just a dick move and limits his potential. If he isn't faster, you'll retake your position from him a while later and everything becomes balanced again. You'll see that, later in the run when his brakes are overheating, he willingly gives up a lot of places to avoid being in anybody's way and causing an accident. The same applies in motorsport, sometimes it's better to give up a place than to fiercely defend your position and risk a crash.

@@marcschoech1348 No, this way of thinking in social racing sports is wrong when it comes to events like these. It's generally common courtesy to let someone pass that's been on your tail, unless you want to risk an accident. If something bad happens, it's you who would be at fault for pulling the stubborn card and not letting someone pass that's repeatedly requested it and is consistently on your tail.

I've never watched a race like this before, and that was just absolutely amazing. So many places on that course where you do not want to take a tumble. Also, I watched it at 2X speed, so....those guys were flying!!! It is hard to imagine the stamina required to go so hard with that level of intensity for so long. Truly a sport for youth....who don't mind the occasional compound fracture.

It's maxed. Everyone has a different max HR. One person's 220BPM is another person's 180BPM. So just seeing a number is meaningless.

There were times when I feared for him going down some of those treacherous mountain passes. Narrow and steep with slick, craggy terrain, a wipeout could cost him his life! But he made some cool moves and jumps too and had some narrow passes. Very, very cool! I liked and subscribed because this was worth it! Great job guys! God bless you ALL! ( :E

Just now seeing this and "highly impressed" is an understatement. What a harrowing and treacherous course. The bikes and riders are next level tough. I could feel my heartrate increase at several points along the way just watching the rider negotiate countless hairpin turns and obstacles. Better than watching a thriller movie!!!

It’s the reason he got passed by everyone he said excuse me to and why his brakes gave out. Out paced himself into inefficiency

Bernard Jordan When in reality, his brakes were out. He let other riders pass him, it was very clear. It’s better to let other riders pass than to cause a crash. The dude did beautifully, and I’d imagine better than you could do in a million years. No need to judge the guy when the majority of people wouldn’t even be at this race, let alone overtaking almost everybody.

Mike the Ike you are an idiot or going for easy likes when did I say any of this and his brake went out cause he was going so fast what did I say that was incorrect ? He broke ahead of the crowd and stopped to catch his breath and yea he let others pass so what he was winded I didn’t say he didn’t do good but I’ve seen other videos of riders going nonstop brakes didn’t go no crashes no aggressive overtaking after 5 min chase of excuse mes I bet even the guy recording would agree he went hard and fell into inefficiency

The pure pedaling stamina this guy and all of the contestants have is just astonishing.

My heart started racing the moment you said the brakes were failing! Alpine biking is scary enough as is, let alone without the ability to stop!

can we just appreciate thus guy cleaning the camera every now and then for us

@@ValRoyD It's a go pro, so he is wiping the dirt off the plastic cast rather than the lens. Go pro's are actually able to ignore a certain amount of dust/water. Still, dude knew exactly when it was getting bad.

This man makes it look easy. This course tests endurance and control in waves, but to start at 1000th and finish so high, he was testing his endurance the entire time. Incredible run!

Saying that he did not have rear brakes for more than half of the race

So.impressed this guy keeps.gping down a mountain with no brakes on a trail he hasent rode on And the sports man ship to let people by when others did not let him 2 thumps up to this man 👍👍

Your ability to pick the right line, to know which way the traffic was moving, and knowing which way riders were going to fall was incredible. Great ride.

If I was doing this, the title would be: He gets overtaken by 961 riders.

I have never heard of this guy, but I just watched the most majestic piece of nature I have ever seen for 40 minutes.

Awesome. Tough break on the brakes. Watched a winning run...the guys out front have a huge advantage on the snow. It was so nasty and churned up by the time you made it there. 👍

Congratulations 🎉 The only annoying thing is that you are announcing that you want to overtake in a single lane when you are actually not even close to be able to do it. You should simply wait in these moments and not expect others to slow down so that you could lead. But beside that you are “crazy good”.
