ക്യാൻസർ സംശയിച്ച് വരുന്ന ഒരാളിൽ ക്യാൻസർ തന്നെയാണോ അതെന്ന് കണ്ടെത്തുക എന്നതാണ് പ്രഥമ ജോലി. സാമ്പിളുകൾ ശേഖരിച്ച് അത് കണ്ടെത്താവുന്നതാണ്. ക്യാൻസർ എങ്ങനെ വന്നു എന്ന് കണ്ടെത്താനുള്ള സംവിധാനം ഇന്ന് ലഭ്യമാണ്. പുകവലി ആണോ അല്ലെങ്കിൽ HPV വൈറസ് കാരണമാണോ ക്യാൻസർ വന്നത് എന്ന് കണ്ടെത്തേണ്ടതാണ്. അതിനു ശേഷം രോഗിക്ക് നിശ്ചയിക്കുന്ന ചികിത്സ താങ്ങനുള ശേഷി ഉണ്ടോ എന്ന് പരിശോധിക്കണം. MRI അല്ലെങ്കിൽ മറ്റു സ്കാനിംഗ് സംവിധാനങ്ങൾ ഉപയോഗിച്ച് രോഗത്തെ സ്റ്റേജ് ചെയ്യണം.
കഴുത്തിൽ ബാധിക്കുന്ന ക്യാൻസർ കണ്ടെത്താൻ MRI അല്ലെങ്കിൽ CT സ്കാനിംഗ് ഉപയോഗിക്കാവുന്നതാണ്. നാവിലും മറ്റും വരുന്ന ക്യാൻസർ കണ്ടെത്താൻ CT സ്കാനിങ്ങിനെക്കാൾ MRI സ്കാനിംഗ് ആണ് കുറച്ച് കൂടി ഉപയോഗപ്രദം.
പല ഘടകങ്ങളെ ആശ്രയിച്ചാണ് CT, PET-CT ഒക്കെ ചെയ്യുന്നത്.

Today we are going to discuss how to proceed with the treatment of Head & Neck Cancer.
The first task is to find out if cancer is present in someone who comes with a suspicion of Cancer.
It can be detected by collecting samples.
Nowadays there is a facility to find out how cancer started.
It is important to find out whether the cancer was caused by smoking or the HPV virus.
After that, the next step is to check whether the patient has the capacity to withstand the treatment or not.
The disease should be staged using MRI or other scanning methods.
MRI or CT scanning can be used to detect cancer in the neck.
MRI scanning is slightly more useful than CT scanning for detecting cancer in the tongue and other areas.
Both CT and PET-CT scans are done depending on many factors.
