A Mourinho team vs a team made of feathers was always going to be a nightmare to referee. As a neutral I honestly didn't know what team to root for, they both behaved embarrassingly. Considering how both teams were constantly in the refs face no matter the decision, he did a solid job

different game - it's harder to ref - less conclusive decisions. Every game in football there is literally 10 decisions that could be argued as correct or incorrect. In Rugby that number is far less. Not saying they get everything right but they get a lot more right than wrong.

The ref was quick to give yellows to Roma players & for the same kind of cynical fouls, Sevlla players didn't get a yellow. Roma player got a yellow for diving but Ocampos dived like 5 times in the box & nothing. Then the hand ball is questionable cause we see 9/10 times those are given for less & he's right about Elamela.

@@AM2K2 This is a Roma side that has been running on empty for 6 weeks due to small squad and injuries. They done really well to get there and deserved a fairer run of the calls. A few years ago that was always a pen against Sevilla. They have muddied the water so much its hard to know whats what anymore regards pens. Roma players all night defender with their hands behind their backs as they are well versed with fc1kery and yes its likely directed at Jose that Roma get so many harsh calls against them. Sevilla defend like that and get away with it?

it was a case of ball hitting the hand in a natural position, there was no obstruction. Just because you repeat a thing 10 times doesn't make it true. You can watch the replays. Referee was top notch.

Wether that’s how we want the rules to be that way or not is up for dispute I’m sure everyone watching the Munich City game thought both penalties were ridiculous but they were given, it’s the consistency that var was brought into deal with which undermines the credibility of these calls.

Roma were pathetic yesterday, TYPICAL Mourinho performance! And as always Jose creates headlines to distract from media discussing the game itself!

Mourinho was an absolute disgrace, went back to his Porto tactics. Should really be a 10 match stadium ban for approaching and abusing the officials in the car park. Given his ego and lack of achievement in the past 10 years, it’s no surprise. Only surprise is bizarrely Simon defending him

Klopp received a 1match ban after berating Tierney in front of the TV cameras and then in a press conference called him bias. He had already received a 1 match ban this season so the FA failed to protect the refs by issuing a suirable ban. His reaction to the ban was to ask who spends the fine money. Don't complain about the treatment of the officials when you let managers insult and call into question the impartiality of the officials and then don't correctly punish the managers.

On the pitch only a captain should be able to challenge a referee, and should only do it respectfully. Managers cannot be allowed to behave like that. We should follow the example of rugby and respect officials. We can’t be allowed to abuse referees. Refs may need better coaching and accountability but that’s with their own body.

We have VAR to correct decisions and most of the time players are trying to con referees anyway. It’s a very difficult job at high speed.

Why is Simon making excuses for UEFA's mismanagement? Matterface is spot on, 3 of the most recent major finals UEFA organised have been a mess.
