He Named Me Malala Official Trailer 1 (2015) - Documentary HD
HE NAMED ME MALALA is an intimate portrait of Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Malala Yousafzai, who was targeted by the Taliban and severely wounded by a gunshot when returning home on her school bus in Pakistan’s Swat Valley. The then 15-year-old (she turns 18 this July) was singled out, along with her father, for advocating for girls’ education, and the attack on her sparked an outcry from supporters around the world. She miraculously survived and is now a leading campaigner for girls’ education globally as co-founder of the Malala Fund.

"If I had an ordinary mother and an ordinary father, I would have two children now." Malala is an absolute incredible braveheart, but it takes the greatest possible deal of courage to watch your daughter be hospitalised after being shot in the head, to watch her lay in a coma, not knowing if she would ever fully recover, and to let her go, once again, and fight for the same justice that she was (unsuccessfully) silenced for. That entire family is just a blossoming flower of inspiration because they chose not to clip her wings.

That's the problem, the whole story about bin laden being here was bullshit, the fact is hecwas never here and the crappy US media told the biggest lie ever told, if he was killed by those so called us troops, why wasn't a single pic of his dead body was taken as a proof, Anyway i don't expect you westerners to understand this since you're way too blinded by the countless lies your media tells you

66 million girls are deprived of education? God damn, that's like 7.7 New York Cities. Imagine that. If you assume there is a girl in NYC, among its 8 million people, who has the capability to find the cure to cancer or Alzheimer's ... then imagine how many girls are among that 66 million who don't have a chance. We must give those girls a chance! For humanity, for us all.

Reading the book, I had one thought. How lucky was Malala that she had the unfailing support of her father as she grew up in a middle eastern country? In Europe and the Americas we sometimes take for granted father-daughter relationships. In such a male dominated country--her father is also a hero for encouraging his daughter to be who she was meant to be.

Yes, I can agree that there are valid reason kids dislike school. I made kind of a broad statement, lol. I was more trying to refer to youth who don't see the value in having a free education. Without worry of being barred from learning for their gender, or race or whatever. Also our education system needs a hell of a lot of work and improvements and the problems that it does have, contributes to the reasons why some kids don't like going to school. I just hope that people will learn from Malala's story and understand that being able to go to school is a privilege that some people don't have.

@Francesca Buonanno. In Iran, more woman graduate from university than men. Yet Iran practices an extreme version of Islamic law. So how can this be? Resistance to female education has nothing to do with Islam. It’s all about the local culture. For example: Pakistan is neighbours with Iran, and it could be argued that Iranian Islamic philosophy is ten times more extreme than anything the Taliban can come up with. However, Iranian women have the same standard of living as American women. In fact, the ratio of educated women to men, is higher in Iran than it is in any western nation. Meanwhile Iran’s neighbour Pakistan, struggles to enforce female education. Islam is a religion that mainly explores ideas about the after life. It is not a culture. Putting all Islamic countries under the same umbrella is the equivalent of putting all of humanity u der the same umbrella. See how crazy that is?

Everyone deserves the right to education and every woman deserves respect, the right to do, say, feel, think what she wants, dress how she wants, to be free. These extremists who are scared of women and treat them like crap will be defeated one day. i hope that all women are respected, valued, honoured and are seen ad equal by all men one day. Honour your daughters, they are honourable.

I am a girl from Saudi Arabia a highly religious place and i would consider myself a religious person . women or men are never prevented from work or education in fact my parent always told me that school is the most important thing in your life since i can remember my mom an I have a books in our bed side tables that we read each night ! Malala lives in a Muslim country i wonder are they prevented from learning in the name of religion ?? how come? Islam does NOT prevent you at all ! i actually have never heard about that until from Malala my question is for those who actually live there or from there --- TO ALL PEOPLE THAT LABLE MUSLIMS AS TERRORIST THIS QOUT IS FOR YOU Who started the first world war?...Muslims? Who started the second world war?...Muslims? Who sent the nuclear bombs of Hiroshima and Nagasaki?...Muslims? Who killed more than 100 millions of Indians in North America?...Muslims? Who killed more than 50 millions of Indians in south America?...Muslims? Who took about 180 millions of African people as slaves and 88% of them died and was thrown in Atlantic ocean? Did Muslims do it? Who killed about 20 millions of Aborigines in Australia?...Muslims? Who killed thousands of people in Vietnam?...Muslims? NO IT IS NOT And today you can notice that muslims are always the victims when you look at what is happening in Burma (Myanmar), Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Chechnya, Ethiopia, Bangladesh, Palestine...etc But media ways are controlled by NON MUSLIMS even inside muslims countries that is why they hide all kinds of crimes against muslims such as burning kids alive in Burma and bombing civilians in Iraq and Afghanistan...etc. And they show all crimes done by few muslims even if it was killing an insect.

It is not about her report card. It is about her will to go to school. To be able to learn physics and all other subjects that interest her. Even if she didn't get 100% or A+++ she is more than happy to learn. Her mission is youth's right (boys and girls) to education. She knows if caught, the Taliban will kill her and yet she still brave the odds and go to school. I think we can all learn the true meaning of courage from Malala's story.
