Although there’s not always the perfect answer, and sometimes it’s hard to know how, we try to support each other in life- through the ups and downs. What are the ways you celebrate the little things? Whenever I fill up my comblers, and I had the perfect amount of pills, it always feels super satisfying- that’s my little celebration :) haha

The Frey Life, how I celebrate the little things is with my oldest and how her health is when her medicine is working that day, I celebrate by a deep breath because that’s a day of no crying, anger, and worry.

Pouring out the exact amount of pills when filling up your comblers is THE BEST feeling!!! I also count my pills when I put them in as well. I was actually counting as you were filling up yours, and didn’t even realize it until you said that you count when filling your comblers too!

The Frey Life I have Major Liver disease ( Non-Alcohol Non-Hep) and when I fill up my Comblers I am just like you when I fill mine! My teenager thinks it's funny that when I poor the exact amount out in my hand, I yell score LOL and also have PTSD VERY BAD, my Doctor's & I have talk about me needing a Service Dog, but it is so hard & expensive to get one... Right now I have a comfort pet, witch is a kitten, and he is doing very well at coming up and whining and Gently touching me tell I lay down and then he circles a few times and lays his body on my heart and his head right under my chin.. if I start having a major panic attack he will start licking my face and Kneads on my chest witch seems to bring me out of it faster, and No I don't take him out in public, because he is not trained as a service pet & I would never want him to distract a Trained Service Dog!! You are so Blessed to have each other! And the love you share is amazing! It also Gives me Hope I will find someone to love, and share the rest of my life with!!

Keeping in faith for the Spirit of Truth, Jesus in His Holy Spirit In me ~ to help me breathe, walk, and hope and trust in Him alone. My journey is not one that others here are not as willing to share or support, so God has been true to His Word about not forsaking those who have been forsaken by others, in my innocence. I have found Jesus to be faithful and true, steadfast in grace to endure this journey that is not quite understood by others.

I had to laugh. When I fill up my "pill container" I also get excited when I put the exact amount in my hand! I was a banker for 40 years so I am use to auditing, I always do a random sampling when I am thru. 5 pills in the morning and 12 at night!!!! But when I am off , i panic as it is a real pain to figure out. I am 66 and I worry when I will not be able to do my own pill prep. It will be hard to teach someone to do it. Can Peter do yours? Also, you are so lucky to have Peter in your life. Is he really as wonderful as he appears? My husband passed away 9 years ago, I am still not over it.

Mary, My husband has asked the exact same question and my feeling is exactly how I responed to him: Just asking that question means you are (or he was) doing exactly what I need; you ensure every day that I feel that love and support. So many other husbands would be long gone at half of our life-experience (ours is similar to yours: high school sweethearts, dated through college, married afterward and moved cross country for grad school in Boston where he still works and I receive my medical care although we live a short drive outside the city...I also have a pediatric-onset genetic disease that affects most of my organ systems and requires numerous daily interventions and functions as a full-time job. To top it off, I am currently paired with my 3rd service dog as of July 2017 though I have had one relatively consistently from age 11-12. It would likely freak you out if I were to continue with all the similarities - yes, we lived in the UK for a stretch too - so I’ll stop here...) but my point is that I, too, know that somewhat awkward - even somewhat painful - feeling you get when your partner (or any loved one, really) looks at you and hates seeing your pain but feels helpless, defeated, or even broken, desperately searching for some way to even slightly ease your pain. You (and I) can see the reflected emotional pain it causes them and thus you/I, in turn, feel helpless because your/my pain is causing the person you love most pain and that - to come full circle - causes you/me an additional sense of pain, or even guilt. My only solution is to make him aware that you see all he does is appreciated and honestly, truly DOES ease your suffering in a very real way; to make it known that his love and presence are enough to brighten a tough day; to ensure his own pain or stress in life is never ignored or downplayed; to love him and make it be known each and every day, multiple times a day. From what I’ve gathered from the Frey Life blogs I’ve seen, you’ve seemed to find that magic yourself. From some one that’s just a few (maybe 3-5) years ahead of your story (we will celebrate our dating anniversary #17 in March and marriage anniversary #10 in June), all I can advise is to not let the magic go. I even find with practice, I discover new ways to show my appreciation and love all the time. To Peter: thanks for being one of the good ones. We always need more of you in the world - otherwise my husband would be a very lonely man! Love and Light to you both! (And Ollie!)

Mary, when you were listing the foods you weren't supposed to eat while taking your new antibiotic medication, I immediately recognized the reason why. They all have a chemical in them called Tyramine which can cause your blood pressure to rise too high and also the chemical causes severe migraines. The only reason I know this is because I suffered from migraines and the doctors at the time didn't have a clue as to what caused them. It was in the late sixties and seventies. I read every book I could get my hands on and learned that the foods you mentioned all had nitrites, nitrates, and Tyramine in them. When the Tyramine reached a certain concentration in my brain it would trigger a migraine. Since I figured it out I have not had a migraine since. The last migraine was in 1980. So, I'm fairly certain that the doctors know that if you mixed those foods with the antibiotic it could either cause your blood pressure to sky rocket and or trigger a nasty migraine. FYI, fake cheeses, like American cheese and Velveeta don't have the chemicals in them, which is why they are okay. Like you said, no aged cheeses. Anyway, I also wanted to say you and Peter are the cutest couple. You have so much love for each other. You are both an inspiration to me. Hope you feel better.

Hi Mary and Peter, the best thing to support someone with chronic illness is believe him/her, that he/she is ill! It makes no sense to me to support someone who is sick and you don't believe him/her. The best support ever (!!) is listening and watching the "patient", just being there for him/her, have a shoulder to lean on or get him/her something to drink or eat or whatever needed! Mary, you can be so proud of you and your husband dealing with this CF for years and years, never really giving up, struggling with complications, medication, hospitalstays and so on! Great!!Peter, you are really a rolemodel for others, who are not good in supporting friends or family! Thanks for showing a glimpse of your life every day! Have a great weekend! love, Britta

It isn’t helpful, and destroys me because I can’t fix it either-some things health wise can’t be fixed, but they can be managed, accepted and survived!!! I suppose I’m still trying to find my Peter!

I love when I pour the exact number of pills, I had intentions to set my meds up in a combler since I take a variety but I gave up and just have a mess of pill bottles to go through. I repurposed mine into a loose eye shadow holder lol. I'm hoping you will feel better day by day🙂

Lol, I know what you mean about when you have the exact amount. It makes me so excited. I also count when I am filling mine up.

Also, Peter - Skeleton looks incredibly scary! But the helmets look amazing. I saw the snowboarding thing too, Mary! I loved it! Ah I need to fill my combler (am I spelling that right?)! I love your shirt while your filling them up, does it have a cowl neck? do you remember where you got it Mary? (Btw every time I type ‘Mary’ my phone autocorrects to Maryland 😂) The simplest things can make us chronically ill peeps feel better. Watching a tv show with my mama and my doggie is the best!

Yes, you 3 support each other so lovingly, I had tears when you were talking Mary, about how supportive and loving Peter is to you, it's because he loves you and cares about you so much, just like you love and care about Peter so much too. God has put your 3 three together, a match made in heaven. I love you guys so very much, and my prayers are with you Mary to feel better. Love and hugs to the 3 of you, see you tomorrow! By the way Peter, yes that yummy dinner looked so delicious!! I really think you guys should make a Sizzle Sizzle Fry Frey cookbook, lets see how many likes I can get for the cookbook!! :-)

I subconsciously count my pills when I refill my pill box. I watch Peter and I see how well he supports you. You two compliment each other perfectly.

Mary is right! That does feel slightly thrilling when you get the exact number of meds in the containers. I use 2oz plastic containers (most people make Jello shots in them - LOL) because they fit more.
