The New Core, I can see them getting it done, and Congrats to Easton Cowan, looking forward into seeing you in the Blue and White soon enough full time

Cowan will make the team. Put him in the top 6 and watch him work. There is nothing to prepare you for this market, let him come in off his OHL tear and let him be a little naive. The team needs a but of that naivety anyway. No pressure, he's just gotta be himself. Put him with Domi and Knies.

Why shouldn't the leafs bring up Easton Cowan,he's obviously good enough, I think that he will make a big impact on the leafs team and help them win, he has had a great playoffs with the London Knights and maybe he is exactly what the leafs need in next year's playoffs GO LEAFS GO

The only reason minten played those 9 nhl games last year was because keefe wanted to punish holmberg for something.

He is not Marner. And you would blow a gasket too if the insanely brutal fan base said the things about you that you all are saying about him. You haters make players not want to be here, it's sad unfounded and childish No one player makes or breaks a team, never have never will, it is a TEAM SPORT

I thought there was an "exceptional status" rule where you can get in the AHL early for cases like this. He's too good for the OHL but not physically mature enough for the NHL(it could be dangerous for him). I wonder if they could rent him out overseas for a year...

@@joeknights So how did he score more points in the playoffs than the other core members over the last 8 years. 50 points in 57 games seems to be production in the playoffs to me. He is a playmaker first and a goal scorer second. If the guys he is setting up don't score, how is that his fault?

@@scottnewton9060 Do you actually watch Marner with your eyes or just parrot the stat sheet? Marner always gets his cookies early in the series when games are already decided but disappears when it really matters. When the pressure is on he becomes a turnover machine, makes unforced errors, scared of physicality and stuck to the perimeter. You're defending a guy who wouldn't put the puck in an empty net because he was scared of getting hit. 3 points in his last 7 games for your stat sheet 🤣

@@dizk8488 Do you know anything about hockey or are you just a couch potato? Marner could not cut properly because he was still suffering from his high ankle sprain. If you want to knock a player for not performing in the playoffs over the last 8 years, look no further than Matthews.

  • @user-lg1rd7jb5m

New coach won't make a difference. Is it Nylanders job to get the puck up to the forwards? Is it Mathews job to get the puck out of the zone and up to the forwards? Is it Marners job to exit the zone with a crisp pass up to the forwards? Answer to all Is NO. ITS THE DEFENSE. Leafs issue is very clear. Lack of quality defenseman. They never replaced muzzin. They never replaced klingberg. Brodie degraded into a #7 dman. Yet the whole hockey world is blaming Keefe and marner. The front office disnt give keefe the the tools to win. Here are a bunch of 3rd pairing or worse Defense. I have zero faith in the new ceo. Zero in shanahan and the gm lol. He was in Arizona and dismantled the flames after acquiring a #1 goalie. The leafs are doomed with this front office. Resign domi. 5 or 6 yrs at 3 mil. Get rid of our 3rd line center. Tavares. Leafs would have nearly 30 mil to address D and a 1b goalie

He's still 18, plenty of time to bulk up. He'd only be called Marner 2.0 if he can't adapt his game to the playoffs, turns into a perimeter player and is scared to get hit.
