I almost hit a dog last night. I live in the country where there are no street lights, and it was a brindle pit bull so I didn't see him til the last instant. I swerved and barely missed him, if I had been driving the truck instead of the Camaro he would be history. I couldn't leave him in the street, so I put him in my car, called the owner (luckily he had a tag with his phone # on it) and delivered him back home. Apparently someone left a gate open and he got out, but the owners did one thing right by having that tag on his collar. It allowed him to be returned home right away.

What a smart idea to use lacing on the WD dressing for his face! Glory is certainly a trooper and absolutely gorgeous - whoever adopts him is one lucky human. I hope he's in a loving foster home and his adoption applications pour in now that this video is up! Thank you for all you do, VetRanch Team!!! I'm not part of the Vet Ranch team but I think I can explain. I've been in healthcare for over 30 years and I've seen them used for as long as I can remember. When there is a deep wound, there is a huge chance of infection of course, so when the wound is packed with sugar, it creates a highly concentrated medium that doesn't allow bacteria to survive. Also, a plus is that it won't allow the wound to scab over so debridement is much easier. Pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers and all sorts of deep wounds can take a long time to heal and antibiotics over a course of three months would cause someone to begin to be resistant, so sugar is exceptional at keeping the bad bacteria from growing in the wound. I'm sure I'm oversimplifying but I used to teach, so I apologize! :)

This is the only channel I'd approve ads being on. They deserve to have their videos monetized - most channels really don't deserve to make money when all they do is parade their 100 bath bombs around. This channel is saving lives and they need money in order to do so. Anyone else wanna help get KZread to monetize VET RANCH?

We are this wonderful dog's family. Who knew?! Our good boy is a KZread star! We adopted Glory in June, 2019. We are his second family since this video was posted. He was caught as a stray in North Carolina in the Spring of 2019. He was back in the rescue system and made his way to us. We renamed him Champ and he figured out his new name very quickly. All of his scars reminded us of an old boxer. (Think Evander Holyfield, not the dog breed.) Thank you so much for the amazing job Vet Ranch did and thank you so much to the person who finally got him from the side of the road and brought him in. He is a fun, energetic, very smart dog with loads of love.

You guys and Dr. Matt are the best Vets in the world. Thank you for your dedication and compassion for helping these homeless dogs. Wish more vets would start something like Vet Ranch in every state. I hope Glory finds his forever home soon.

I wonder if they've ever recorded a video but didn't post it because the patient passed away. Personally I think it would be interesting if they did post a video that ended that way; it would show that sadly, not all patients can be saved, and would really bring reality into the videos and show us even more what its like to be a Vet.

I couldn't be a vet. Just watching this I had to skip past a few parts, felt my stomach wanting to up chuck and had my hand over my mouth. I'm sure I was pulling some great facial expressions too. I would want to help the dog the best I could but I'm honestly not sure I could do that. My hat goes off to veterinarians and doctors, and anyone who has to deal with living beings flesh and fixing it all back up together. I'm not sure how you do it, but it's fantastic that you can because we would all be totally buggered without you.

I guess you learn to rationalize the gross bits as being a stage to go through to get to a better stage. The wounds healed up wonderfully, can't tell the bad side from the uninjured side.
