Bears are terrifyingly fast. I don't think they need an e-bike to catch up to anyone.

If this doesn't get you up off the couch to race a bike, I don't know what will. Way to go EJ! Extremely inspiring story.

@@dpcater 1500 isn't totally crazy, but all depends on weight as you say. Also, 1500W randomly on the watt bike (that's stationary and you don't have to worry about crashing the thing) and doing 1500W at the end of half an hour of hard riding (actually did it twice) are very different things

In Cali it’s already short bibs season meanwhile in Mid/Eastern Europe it’s 1 degree raining snowing :/ watching it on trainer makes me so jealous. Good one on the W

That’s very inspiring! I am a 61 year old cyclist, and I’ve never raced, but quite honestly, this whole process (from couch to today) is really giving me motivation to try race once in a while. Great job and it was truly fun to watch this whole series of videos leading up to today.

Thanks! I’m a long time cyclist.. I do a lot of group and endurance type rides. Watching EJ take this on was really fun to watch. I didn’t think he’d only need one race to do it. LoL. I was thinking he’d maybe go a whole season before winning.

"You are a novice after all. This is where you belong." With a 1,500W sprint, private coach, and nutrition plan "me thinks thou doth protest too much." 😂 Nice work EJ

1500 watts in such a short period of time is impressive. Dude’s got natural talent for sure.

That surge to 1k watts at 7:50 pretty quickly brought EJ’s HR up almost 20bpm though he basically coasted afterwards - crazy!

Enjoy the ride EJ. I still remember my first public cat, and Cat V race wins from the early 90s (first-year the UCSF introduced the Cat V), and they are fond memories that I've carried into my 50s. I also continue some friendships I made with my former team members and even still ride with a few. None of us had power meters, GPS computers, digital cameras, etc. in the 90s and only have our minds to hold these memories; you'll be able to relive this moment and many more others with your friends and possibly children when you're in your 50s.

I cannot get enough of this, EJ. This has been such a cool and inspiring journey. It’s infectious and so motivating. Thanks you guys!
