A little about myself:
New to my channel? I'm an average recreational cyclist that recently moved from America to Girona, Catalunya, Spain. The Vuelta España and The Tour of Catalunya will all be held here in Spain!
Sometimes I race and when I do, I share my training with you along the way. So far, I've done crit racing, road racing and gravel racing. I haven't done a duathlon or a triathlon yet, but it is something I am thinking about!
So far in Spain, I’ve seen DSM cycling, SD Worx, Team Jayco Alula, Rally / Human Powered Health cycling, Ineos, Arkea cycling, UAE team emirates and more all training here. Did you know there’s also a GCN studio here?

The difference between division 1 world tour pro and Cat 1 domestic pro is night and day. Most Cat 1 domestic pros can do ≈ 5 watts/kg for 20 min, that’s high tempo for a world tour pro, something they could do for 120+ min.

It’s not just the raw power and the pack skills you need to camp out at the front of a race like that… it’s also the bike handling. Hope that guy who slid out is ok but seeing lamperti float through those corners while guys are sliding out and losing control trying to hold his wheel into the final sprint… unbelievable If you name a skill that you need to race bikes well, he was probably the best at that skill in the field. Fun to watch the race and great analysis! I was yelling at my TV “wtf you’re leading him out” but I dont think they had a choice 😂

He also had to beat Dusan Kalaba (2nd place 2023) and Alfredo from Reign Storm. Legion hasn't been that fast this year. Justin 1 race off his suspension, not sure how he got out of that early to make it to Tulsa, and Cory is a new dad which instantly slows you down.

The big question is what would Patrick Lefevere say if this guy broke his collar-bone at a trivial criterium in Oklahoma? The American peloton would be shredded if they raced 5 hours with this guy. Look at what happened at the national championships in Charlestown. This should never happen. Things have really fallen off the table in the USA since the loss of the Tour of California.

Once you become a pro in Europe, do you think their cycling mentality is just that much more serious and supreme than in the U.S.? I mean the US has mostly crits... and they have hours long road races, and some crits too, but again. is their level just much greater there generally than the US?

@SeeSmithTV yes, I agree. I've seen the numbers, 800 watt efforts for minutes AFTER 4 hours of riding w all the efforts before. ...just mind bending. And even after the race, Luke didn't seen like he was destroyed.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't one of the Williams brothers say something about not being in the world tour because of the color of their skin a few years back? A world tour pro spoke out and said, "it's not the color of your skin, it's because you're slow". Now that's funny. Justin also said, "I can race and win in Europe ". Sure you can...

Toyed with them. That's the difference between euro racing and the piggy stuff they call racing in the USA. Most of the domestic jokers in this race couldn't top ten an amater race in belge or netherlands.
