Is it possible that the incorrect teaching on prosperity has caused a generation of people to view the Lord's blessings in a like manner as Esau? Isaac didn't win because he was more righteous. He got the blessing because he valued it more than ANYTHING, Esau believed he was entitled to the blessing by the accident of being born first. Sounds like the Pharisees in Jesus's day, "God's chosen people", but didn't even recognize God in the form of the Christ. Same is still true throughout Christendom today.

@Isaiah Eli I have always been a Christian. By saying that, I mean I believe in God the Father Almighty. He is the maker of Heaven and Earth. And I believe in His Son Jesus Christ, who was beaten and tortured for MY Sins. He died and on the Third Day he rose again, and sits at the Right Hand of God, our Father Almighty. Have I lived my life as God has instructed us to, NO. That, I am very ashamed. I have asked Him for forgiveness of my sins. But, most of the time I don’t feel forgiven. I hate to say this here, but I have committed some awfully bad sins. Then, to make it even worse, I have continued to sin. HOW can God forgive me? I have disappointed Him. I have been going through the worst suffering over the last 22 YEARS. My husband of 19 years abandoned me. He still lived in our home, but he had nothing to do with me. He was running around with some guys, (long story) and I’m 99.9% sure cheating on me. I could not live that way, so we divorced. We’ve been divorced 19+ years now, and I am still as sad as the first day. I don’t understand what happened to the love he once had for me. I’ve continually felt that God is punishing me for my sins. I am totally alone, a very lonely person. My family has turned away from me. I have 1 sister that speaks to me, but refuses to listen to my woes. I am dead to the other sister. My parents have been gone for quite a while. I have NO relationship with either of my 2 Sons. One hates me, I feel pretty sure because of the divorce. He has even turned my Grandson against me, and I don’t see either of them. THIS DEEPLY GRIEVES ME. My other Son lives on the other side of the country, and is in the Army. So visits with him are almost impossible. I’ve only seen him 6 times in the last 18 years. I have NO friends, truly none. I don’t work due to disability. (I’ll be 66 this September. My health is really bad; physically and mentally. I ask God every day to please send Jesus for me. Right now, I believe God deems me unfit for Heaven. I do too. I did attempt suicide once. It was soon after the divorce, my Sons stopped all contact with me. They lived with their dad, and he turned them against me. All 3 of them vehemently deny that, but it’s true. I know facts. My life is worthless. It is too painful for me to live this life of mine. I WOULD try it again, but I’m afraid God will send me to Hell. I beg Him everyday to help me, but… As far as I can tell, it seems that my pleas for help are, I won’t say ignored, but not being answered. I feel it’s like this due to my sin. I have just recently found a counselor; LCSW. I have not yet seen her. I don’t know if she’s a Christian, but I’m praying she is. I have to see whomever my Medicare Insurance will pay for because I am broke. I live month to month on my disability. That money is gone before the month is over. I owe soooo many medical bills due to 7 spine surgeries. I had to sell some of my furniture to be able to buy tires for my 2010 car. I AM THANKFUL for that car. Can you see why I feel the way I do? And I’ve not written about all of the bad stuff going on in my life. People tell me, “Be thankful, there’s a lot of people out there that have it a lot worse than you.” This is a sin, and really bad of me, but I want to slap those people! Yes, there are, I very well know that. When I had money, I made donations to some of those in need. These people “reminding me” of this, doesn’t pay a bill that’s past due, or keep my rent and utilities paid. Or buy food for that last week of the month, before another check comes. All of this is what makes me feel HE is punishing me. I have NO clue as what to do about all this. That’s why I plead everyday to be taken from this CRUEL world. I know I have written a book. I did not mean to do this. I just pray that YOU, Isaiah will see this and read it. If nothing else, I am desperately hoping you will pray for me. I really am in need of some answers, but from where? If you do read all this, I THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!!!

The most high Abba Yah put that plan into Jacobs thoughts because Yah knew ESAU DESPISED HIS BIRTHRIGHT. He was only going to misuse it for personal gain. Don't and won't acknowledge what they through their own actions have caused. Easier to seek vengeance than repentance. Makes them FEEL better (also superior). @@anotherpointofview222 honestly, it would be a complete giving up of dreams, goals, interests, hobbies, and anything but the most easily controlled interests to wholly follow Jesus and Gods will for my life. And to a point, giving up the use of technology without risking what we may need for work/travel etc. I'm often weakest to temptation when I'm not guarding myself on the internet. Failed way too many times to count and wasted a lot of the last 17 years I could have given to God and yet half or better was wasted on myself. All I know is that I want to fully repent and live as God wants me to live and be in his will. Apologies for the edit, there was some that was not fully relevant to what you asked.

God was teaching us that the elder shall serve the younger!, the flesh shall serve the spirit! In Christ this is possible 😊

God will transform & Restore you, if only one repent and turn from wicked thoughts and ways. Miracles will appear when you least expect it💯

God is the God of restoration and can redeem time and give you back the years the locust has eaten. He can reverse the curse you have brought upon yourself through disobedience. Don't forget that His mercies are new every morning, and His grace is far reaching.

Side note - Esau is often portrayed as having red hair but we don’t know what color his hair is because the Bible doesn’t say this. It says HE was red and full of hair, not he had red hair. He had a ruddy complexion not red hair.

God said, " Jacob I loved, Esau I hated." That's about as bad as it gets.

I have been struggling with trying to understand this verse. I was blaming God for siding with the wrong people at the expense of the right. This because of the poor preaching by my pastors, but the spirit of the Lord wanted me to know this mystery and he directed me to this page. Now I know that God simply gave a prophecy of the two boys fighting right from the womb. God was telling Rebecca what was going to happen, yet these pastors thought it was God's will that happens like this. It is not God's will for one to be rebellious or disobedient or lustful for the things of the flesh. Thank you

This is true I am living proof I am another Esau I had the Lord deep with inside of me anything I ask for anything I said God would deliver anything if I asked for healing it happened when I asked for healing the Lord delivered many people were healed I made a mistake and got married for the second time and I straight away from God gave into worldliness and flash today I live with regrets and there’s no turning back a lot of times I feel condemned I’m not sure if I’m going to heaven or not I’ve repented and I have repented I can’t forgive myself and I don’t believe the Lord has forgiven me either I once had it all and I gave it all up to worldliness don’t make the mistake I made and Esau

Easu did not repent for his sins or take any responsibility. God forgives you with NO CONDEMNATION. You need to forgive yourself and live your life and trust God....Mercy triumphs over judgement dear friend, and Gods is endless. Don't live in the past, trust God to take your ashes and turn into beauty. If you sit in your mess without peace, satan is continuing to steal and destroy you. Stand and press into Him, He loves you unconditionally, and everyday is brand new day. God grant me the serenity to accept the things I can not change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference. Jacob didn’t respect the lineage laws nor his brother and took advantage of Esau’s exhaustion to steal the birthright. He could have waited on God, if this was God’s intent for Jacob to have the birthright.

Esau is JESUS. The Arabic word for Jesus is ISA /ESA (Esau). Whoever put the Bible together found a way to help Christians curse the Messiah while at the same time PRAISE some group of FAKE ISRAELITES hiding under the name Jacob as devils. The whole Esau (Christians) and Jacob (Isarael / Jews) is about how one group (jews) beat the other group (Christians) out of their blessing.
